"I was very surprised, but we had a good experience here today for breakfast. Even though this establishment is very close to our home, located off a busy Route 46 East in Elmwood Park, past experiences and the fact that we never saw the parking lot too crowded had us staying away from Parkway Diner. Upon entering, we were greeted by the staff and were seated right away in the dining room to the left of the entrance. The food is standard diner food, with a good selection on the menu. We decided on the waffle tower (layers of French toast and waffle quarters with banana, strawberries, and walnuts topped with whipped cream and chocolate syrup) and 2 eggs scrambled with turkey sausage, accompanied by crispy home fries and wheat butter toast. The service was good, but the food was even better with huge portions. The prices were very typical of what you will find now at any diner in the area. This place is as solid as any neighborhood diner. Go and give it a try."
"Very surprised but had a good experience here. Been doing some diner crawls and although the ambience might have been lacking a crowd, it made up for it for food and service. Granted it’s a Sunday at 3pm on NYE - i was one of few there. Nonetheless I got the 2 egg platter and it was a good experience. Home fries were regular, little salt and pepper did the trick. Toast was good. Beef sausage was out of this world tho. Service was great - promptly sat and was treated very well. Order was quick and they had holiday jingles playing. Will be back!"
"I'll go straight to the point this time. Dinner was almost empty so good because I didn't have to wait to be seated. The food I ordered, first one my friend order the teriyaki chicken wrap, which looked and tasted very dry we both thought since it was "teriyaki " it would have at least the proper "teriyaki " flavor". I asked for a Philly-cheese steak sandwich and the steak was awful no taste they forgot to add the onions which in my opinion is the special flavor touch for a Philly cheese sandwich the grilled onions mix with the steak. I told the waitress and instead of fixing or re-doing my sandwich they just brought me some onions on a little plate. Again in my opinion the Philly cheese steak has to be cooked on the grill mix with the onions so it could absorb the flavor and give flavor to complete the sandwich. Sorry but the food was 1- ⭐️ star."
"Stopped here for dinner. Good food, service and atmosphere. I used to live nearby but don't remember every trying this place. Glad I finally did. I had the Lobster bisque and a cheeseburger with cheese fries. Yum."
"Came here on Christmas day for a very late breakfast/lunch. Before heading there, we looked at the reviews and were a little concerned to go since some reviews mentioned that their prices were pretty high. We took a chance anyway since the places that we usually go to were closed. The service was OK but the food was even better. The prices are very typical to what you will find now in any diner in the area and they have a good variety of options for any palette. The coffee was good and strong. Not watered down in any way which is a big plus. We ordered, pancakes to share, Eggs Benedict, and a Hickory burger with curly fries. The pancakes were nice and fluffy. The Eggs Benedict was good. They were not the best, but it did not disappoint. The burger was delicious. I appreciated the canadian bacon. The lettuce was nice and fresh. In all we had a pleasant meal at a decent price. We would definitely come back to explore different menu options."
