"Got the order 25 minutes later than what was told. Ordered a thali and for parathas we were given ‘kawan parathas’. The lids for the containers were god knows how old, they were completely broken and mixed in daal and subjees."
"Yummy and fresh dosas! We had pondicherry masala dosa and palak paneer masala dosa and they were so delicious. There was generous portion of potato filling inside and our dosas came with a bowl of rich sambar. We've been to another dosa place down the road on Newark Ave. many times before and honestly, I think Dosa Hut is better because it's cleaner, portion is more generous (the other place totally started cutting corners on their portions while price stayed the same or might have even gone up,) sambar is more concentrated and flavorful and not watery. We will return!"
"Short summary: Dosa Hut is excellent, Newark Avenue is a great destination for authentic Indian dining. Atmosphere is not what this place is about, spartan is an apt description. The blah blah part: Wow. Dosa Hut is amazing. Please do yourself a favor and take a walk down the hill on Newark Avenue in JC, stopping at Dosa Hut near the top of the hill for a dosa as an appetizer (best if split with someone, they are large). Then, either try the other items here or continue down the avenue to one of the many other restaurants. I have not had the Dosa Hut's entrees; the Hut is all vegi. Last weekend I had a masala dosa with potato (aloo) and paneer, it was amazing, and I don't use the word lightly. It was an explosion of flavor."
"One of my fav go to places to have good South Indian food! It’s not a fine dine place by any means but if you are looking to have some delicious food on a weekend, this is it!! My fav from here is (sambar, idli , masala dosa combo) it’s $14, worth the price and gets you everything in one I enjoy the thali as well a lot here. Sometimes it could be super busy so make sure you have 15-20 minutes extra time Prices are good and taste is amazing."
"Their food is amazing, Dosa’s are the best, idly Vada plate is delicious. They have a sambar station where you can get sambar refills. We ordered mysore bonda, punigulu, idly vada, onion rava dosa and it was really good. Very delicious food, but chutneys they can make even better."
