Reviews of Bawarchi Biryani Corner
"First time I tried an Indian restaurant in NJ, the Biryani and Chicken 555 was finger licking delicious! The staff members were good, food was amazing and excellent ambience. Definitely will visit again!"
"FIRSTLY, THE MENU NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. IT IS SO STICKY AND DIRTY. PRICE OF FOOD IS BEFORE COVID. THEY NEED TO UPDATE PRICE ON THE MENU,ONLINE EVERYWHERE. Hope the restaurant owner sees this. Something was very suspicious about this place. It had good review hence wanted to try. Dining was open but there was no one in the restaurant(almost spent time around 90 minutes), all the people in the photo, video are delivery drivers waiting from 30 minutes and it was all smoky as you can see in the photo. There was only one server doing everything, online and dining. The place is not kept clean, the kitchen is very dark and dirty. The washrooms ughhh don't even think of using it, is stinking, sticky, washbasin is dirty. The restaurant did not look like a restaurant. It looked as if we were sitting at a funeral food function. They do not have anything, asked onions for the sides, they did not have, they have no raita(very watery) paneer was made like 3-4 days back and was so hard. Took 40 minutes to prepare one PANEER BIRIYANI. The lights were so bad, they are RUNNING THE RESTAURANT ON A LOOSE END. Very selfish restaurant, needs to hire more people for work. The FOOD DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO CHECK ALL CRITERIAS AND LET THE RESTAURANT OPEN AGAIN."
"I have tried biryani in many cities and many restaurants, by far this was the worst experience. Chicken Biryani was stale, Mutton Biryani was more like khichdi, no taste of biryani, not sure why they named it biryani, worst was they tried to pasd of Lamb as goat Biryani. Then the chicken 65, it was more like fried chicken. My take on this.. Don't bother wasting your money. Its a genuine turnoff if you like Biryani"
"A chain of restaurants (45 plus locations around the US) that specializes in Biriyani (Indian pilaf style rice slow cooked with meats for hours in a tightly sealed pot). This place has about a dozen or so different varieties of biryanis including vegetarian options. I have had biryanis from various parts of India throughout my life. The best one that always stands out for me was one that I ate at a place in Southern India (Kerala to be exact) called Rangoli. It was a delectable and sublime preparation indeed. Even though it is my subjective opinion, all other biryanis prior to that experience and subsequent to it is graded and benchmarked to theirs. Nevertheless, this one I ate here was a Tandoori chicken variety biryani. It was not as moist and spread with ghee (clarified butter) as I would have liked. Also, it was too spicy for me. When I posed the spice factor to the waiter, he said that this was actually the medium spicy version and there was an even spicier option to this one as well. I wish they had given me an option of the spice level factor at the time of placing the order. Service was better than expected and staff was attentive. Decor was confusing. Although these were independent franchises, there should have been a uniformed, consistent, modern and simple decor theme in all of its location. It was too much of an old and modern mismatch and mashup. I may pay them another visit in the future to try other varieties of the biryani and other items."
