Amendola's Pizzeria & Restaurant 28 Lake Street, Monroe, NY 10950

"I normally don’t like posting reviews, but have a few thoughts of this place. We used to dine here frequently (maybe once or twice a week) over the past 5-10+ years ago. Amendola’s used to be great under the original ownership, which would be Sam and his family. However, the last couple times I stopped in over the past few months, we wanted to dine in at the back but walked out instead. It was completely eerie with no one there except for me and my dad unlike how it used to be busy/hopping with other people. I’m not trying to talk down about anybody or anything, but if you’re coming here I’d say stick to doing take-out or eating up front (for now). Until they resolve the dine-in atmosphere in the back, I will NOT be coming back. Nonetheless, the food I remember used to be great and it probably still is (despite ownership changes). Though due to the bad dining experiences this year, we’ll be taking my business somewhere else. And that’s a review."

"We happen to call for hot subs on day they posted a special, 2 subs for $17.00. Plus they give 15% discount for Veterans. Good amount of filling in both subs: chicken & shrimp parmesean. Gave 4 stars for atmosphere b/c it was front counter by pick up, nothing special. A word of advice, the last 2 times I went the online price was different from menu price. They said both times they were waiting for new printed menus. Verify your price if you are getting take out."

"The food was flavorful. The veggies were done perfectly, with just the right amount of crunch. The cheese steak had cheese on the top and bottom. We will be back every time we are in the area."

"This is easily the best pizza in town, I like to stop in whenever I'm in the neighborhood. It is the same great pizza I remember having as a kid, and the same family running the restaurant. I also enjoy the Amendola's labeled drinks in the fridge. You might want to check out the Nicola Noble books they have available there; maybe get an autograph!"
