"On January 15, 2021, at 1:30 PM, I had outpatient surgery at Fairfax Hospital. While everything else was above my expectations, I am very unhappy with the care I received from the anesthesiologist. Having had general anesthesia before, I am well aware of what to expect. I was given no warning before being put to sleep. As I recall, I had barely gotten situated on the operating table. Once home, I saw that there were 2 large raw areas on either side of my throat and it was very painful to swallow. My neck was also very painful, and after a day or two I noted that the muscle that extends from my head down to my shoulder was swollen and hard. It remained that way for over 2 weeks. I should not have had to deal with all of this in addition to recovering from the surgery. I feel the abrupt care continued thoughout my procedure, and it made recovery even more difficult."
