Reviews of Clementine Twin Lakes
"I was at Clementine about a year ago. I have been in a pretty stable recovery since I was discharged but, the food was always cold (sometimes undercooked) , an RC wore a waist trainer to work multiple times a week, another RC talked about being gym trainer helping people to lose weight, and we were yelled at consistently by staff. One staff member slammed a door in a clients face. We only met with our therapists once a week and the yoga/dance teacher is useless. One of the group therapists (who has now been fired) told me that I was a liar for saying that I thought I was further along in recovery in front of everyone. We were only allowed outside twice a week. The ensures we’re always warm and the measurements were inconsistent. I wouldn’t have been able to gain weight if it weren’t for Clementine, but the rest was pretty disappointing. I made some lifelong friends that I am thankful for, and I also am grateful for the staff that treated me like an actual person, not just someone with an ED."
"I’m fairly certain they helped save my daughters life. While it wasn’t easy on her, she has returned stronger, hopeful, and happier. They held my hand through most of the process and provided great education - even through covid. While I don’t wish ED on anyone, I would recommend Clementine if your child needs help. They treat the mind. and not just the body our children inhabit. Edit: we’re now over a year out of treatment and my child is still in strong recovery."
"We had to save our daughter out of there after a week or so being there. The approach to her needs were terrible. Everyone is treated the same way, no individualized approach. No one was answering the emails. I sent several emails to the program manager and the nutritionist, never heard back from them. One incident after another got us so worried that we had to rescue her. The system was such that we felt we would be better off at home than in that program. Worse came after we got her out and found out that they had reported us to the child protective services!! and we had to deal with that too. This really proved to us that we made the right decision to get her out of there. I am a physician myself and had spoken with the psychiatrist there a couple of times. Was very surprised that the reported us to CPS, when we voluntarily took my daughter there to get help! Nevertheless, with all fairness, I believe if your child is dying from malnutrition and anorexia, it may be ok to take them there, so they can force feed them. But for the other conditions and eating disorders I certainly doubt about the place."
"The RCs here are awful. They were so inconsistent with the rules, and so rude. We stayed in one place all day, and I felt like I was going insane. All day we had to sit in the milieu and do absolutely nothing, and we weren’t allowed to watch tv until 4:00pm. It didn't feel like a home, it felt like a hospital. Not comfortable at all. If you stood up, they acted like you just did a backflip off the wall, it was so ridiculous. Everything was “Too much movement” we couldn't even play concentration. They had us read a really triggering book titled “8 keys” and the lady talked about how much she weighed, her behaviors, how much weight she lost, and how much she exercised and purged. We were required to read it, so we couldn't do anything about it."
"this place is absolutely amazing! I made incredible friendships and the staff there is so nice and makes you feel so safe and welcomed. I highly recommend this facility, it saved my life, helped me get rid of toxic behaviors and thoughts. even thought the thoughts may always be there, clementine taught me how to deal with them and work towards a happy life!"
