"I was looking for an allergist that specializes in OIT for food allergies. I set an appointment for both of my sons in the summer of 2022. At the appointment, I heard a lot about the doctor's experience with food allergies. She did a little review of one of my kids bloodwork before leaving the room. After about 10 minutes a nurse came in with OIT paperwork. I was never even told that my child would be candidates by the doctor. I asked if the doctor was coming back in the room but she was not planning to do so; I requested that we finish our conversation and she returned. She didn't even realize that my second son was on her schedule when I asked how his results looked. She said she was very busy and asked if she could just call me later to complete his appointment that would be helpful for her. Okay... no problem, I'm in healthcare and I get we are all busy. But... no call back was ever made. Insurance was billed for both children, but we never actually discussed my second child. After MULTIPLE attempts of contacting them through their "convenient" text communication and directly calling the office, I finally spoke to someone that heard my concerns in December. She said the doctor was again very busy, but they would be back to me within the first week of January. It's February. I cannot bring myself to have my children treated with such a risky procedure such as exposure therapy, if this is how a simple consult is handled and communication is so poor. Seems like the doctor would be too busy to safely implement OIT from my perception. Very disappointing."
