"Gene is a wizard! I’ve been seeing him for 10 plus years and he can cure everything. I highly recommend him for anything you need and have never met a better Acupuncturist in my life."
"Dr. Spence's office is located on the second floor of the John Marshall building, which is attached to where the Red Truck bakery is located. He has a modest office, and honestly, I love that it doesn't look or feel like a typical doctor's office. Dr. Spence is a very wonderful person, and gets right to working with you on your personal health problems. I described my issues to him and he got to work right away applying the needles in key locations to help. I've had pains in my shoulders and back as well as a spasm that always occurs in my right calf, among other problems. He did some cupping on my shoulder at the end of the acupuncture session as well. After the first session, I went home feeling some relief, but also a bit more pain, but understood that this was my body's response to treatment it needed and knew it would subside shortly. Sure enough, I woke the next morning with drastic improvement! My daily Charlie-horse didn't happen and my shoulder pain reduced so much that it didn't hurt to breathe anymore! I came back for a second session, and the pain subsided even more, and my overall health felt improved. I wake up refreshed instead of with my usual grogginess. I visited again for a third time, and my shoulder pain is gone. I'm so happy I found him! I'm looking forward to visiting at least once a month to continue improving my overall wellness. He's a great guy, and very pragmatic. I asked him if there were any texts I could pick up to help me understand more about acupuncture and Chinese healing, and he didn't hesitate to recommend a couple of books that are great for beginners and not too technical. I bought one to take with me overseas to read and I'm looking forward to expanding my knowledge on the science. There are many acupuncturists out there, and plenty of them offer groupon deals, but I didn't feel right looking for a cheap way to improve my health. I found Dr. Spence by researching around for good acupuncturists, and I was willing to pay for legitimate and proper services. I pay full price for his sessions, and he doesn't treat me like I'm business. The first session was $120 and then it's $90 each session afterwards. In my opinion, this is well worth the cost, as my health is very important to me. To boot, each session lasts over an hour, sometimes up to 90 minutes. I highly recommend giving him a shot if you're looking for alternative healing. You might just be pleasantly surprised. Just keep in mind that acupuncture doesn't cure problems, it helps heal you as an individual. While there are general treatment methods available, your treatments are specific for you as an individual. So, with that in mind, be completely honest with your problems when you see him, or any acupuncturist, for that matter. I'd consider acupuncture a "team effort". The doctors can't heal you properly if they don't have a good picture of the situation."
