Reviews
"Beautiful place, not very crowded and nice to walk around. Big pear tree in the middle of the backyard full of fruits!"
"Informative walk upon the former grounds of a supply depot used by the Union in the battles for Richmond. The main house has a short film explaining the situation."
"Not sure if this landmark is open to the public right now, but we went there on a rainy day and there was construction going on in the main house. They left us alone to wander the beautiful grounds and beach areas. The information stations were very informative regarding the area during the Civil War Era and displayed pictures of what the area looked like at the time. The stations were placed exactly in the area that the pictures displayed from back in time. My son and I spent about 1 1/2 hours discovering the place and discussing what it must have been like. The pathways where carriages drove through are still visible and the paths to the beach area are very well kept. We had a marvelous experience here!"
"Loved the walk on the grounds and seeing the buildings, flowering trees and river."
"Beautiful historic home to visit. Picnic tables and fishing. We just walked the property. Peaceful and relaxing!"
