Lake Meade Dog Park

"Update 8/23: Evidently the powers that be got the message and An Additional bench has been placed inside the large dog area under some trees so it's got some shade now. A couple more wouldn't hurt Including one in the shady area in the small dogs/puppy side, but at least it's a start. It's nice to have a dog park for dogs in our area. Having said that this one needs some work. There are often big holes out there where Dogs Dig and not everybody is very good about cleaning up after their pet. Unfortunately, there's poison ivy growing up on some of the trees that needs to be attended to and the Landscaping could use some work. The metal bench that you sit on when you are at the park is in the direct hot boiling sunlight and the numerous requests have been made to the city to put one in the shade but we are told it's too expensive. Given the amount of my personal property and real estate taxes for Suffolk, there's no excuse for that. And there are plenty of methods of getting a bench put in economically. Boy Scout Eagle project? Sounds like a winner. Suffolk has a lot of beautiful spaces but the city doesn't provide the services to the citizens they deserve especially considering the taxes and the crazy utility bills we have. This is a nice park but needs some attention. And if you take your dog there, be a responsible dog owner and clean up after your pet. They do provide bags and a trash can and water for your pets. The least you can do is scoop the poop."
