"Beautiful old bridge from the early 1900s. Great to view from a distance. Don't recommend walking across the bridge, though, as the distance between you and the oncoming traffic is very minimal."

"It was built on the site of the city's first bridge completed in 1788 by John Mayo Jr. It is Richmond's oldest highway bridge across the James River. The bridge's closeness to the river surface has made the sidewalks on either side of it popular fishing locations."

"I love driving across this bridge at sunset, beautiful views of the river! Sometimes in the middle of the night, the fishermen scare me when I'm driving; I don't know if they're sleeping or dead!"
