"A lesser used entrance into Larus Park. The trails are small but generally well maintained with a helpful map at the entrance. There's access to a small creek but be aware that there are neighbors close by and it is easy to trespass. Please respect the park boundaries. To get to the main area of the park you must walk through a long and somewhat dark tunnel under the Chippenham Parkway. There is usually a small amount of water or even ice during the winter in the tunnel. Many people are reluctant to enter the tunnel because it is somewhat forbidding but the only problems I have heard are that people have slipped on the ice. The park is not designed for picnicking or playgrounds, but it is great to explore a wild area."
"Nice hidden park with easy trails interwoven throughout. Trails are now well marked. New trail kiosks have been installed at trailheads and key junctions. From the Huguenot Rd. trailhead once you've crossed the stream if you venture up and to the right you will encounter stairs bringing you to an intersection. One leading towards the tunnel under the highway. If you go thru the tunnel, on the return hang to right for more challenging trails that will eventually bring you back to the stream. At that place, go left and return to your start. It's a good workout w many elevation and scene changes. The many trails can be combined to increase mileage."
"A lovely 104 acre park near Huguenot and the river. In the autumn, the fall color was spectacular! There is a small, charming creek that runs through the park with trails that loop around. We saw lots of interesting fungi and plants on our hike. I would allow up to an hour and a half."
"Hidden among the other more well known park systems like belle isle. This is easily my favorite. Medium and short hikes are available through wooded hills filled with fiddle head ferns in spring. A rocky creek runs through part of the trails great for pictures or relaxing. There are benches to sit on throughout the trails. Very scenic and secluded."
"Very enjoyable hike. Loved the tunnel. Could really use some blazings on the trails. The trailhead map is not very good. People, please keep your dogs on a leash - especially the aggressive, charge a stranger barking one's."
