"This is a quick beautiful detour for anyone traveling on Interstate 77 through southern West Virginia. The detour only adds about 15 minutes to the drive time. Once you enter Brush Creek State Park, signs point the way to the trailhead parking lot. The hike from the trailhead parking lot to the waterfall is only a quarter mile. The trail terrain includes a small hill as well as some large rocks and tree roots. Many wild rhododendrons plants grow along the trail. These are probably beautiful when in bloom. Some waterfalls in West Virginia are small and seasonal but this one had robust water flow over its 30 foot height even in early January. This is worth a stop for anyone traveling on I-77 through southern West Virginia."
"Very easy 1/4 mile hike. Limited parking so go early. I went in the winter and had the place to myself. If you continue, you will come to White Oak Creek Falls. It's 1 3/4 miles from the parking lot. It's an easy hike, but make sure you go after a good rain."
"Limited parking, but otherwise a fantastic falls! Plenty of people there and enjoying swimming at the bottom or jumping in from the top. Also has a great trail that goes beyond to another set of falls. Just a fun area! Quite steep to get down to the bottom, but worth it for sure!"
"Nice trail to hike. Trail was easy to navigate. Make sure you go all the way to the end to White Oak Creek Falls. There were a few little muddy spots, but overall, it was easy to navigate. When you first come to Brush Creek Falls, go just a little bit further and go down path that is easier to scramble down. Falls were beautiful."
"Really cool waterfall, wouldn’t have expected everything this waterfall had to offer. When we first pulled up in the parking lot it wasn’t too busy. There is a little spot for a picnic without tables though so if you’re going to have one, bring yourself a blanket. Wasn’t too long of a hike to the falls and once you get to the bottom, it is really cool with opportunity to climb up a little if you would like. I for sure recommend if you’re passing by and love waterfalls like I do that you definitely stop at this one."
