"Good att reception all the way along the trail. Some free parking down at the entrance not much about 10 ish. No restroom on side, pretty steep at the entrance about 30min ish when enter. Great view on the top, it was very windy (10 mph) on Oct, 22 2023 try to go on a less windy day. Whole thing take about 3-4 hours, take 1 liter of water."
"Amazing views at the top of Chimney Rock! It really is stunning with beautiful cool breeze too. We hiked up the North Fork Trail. Gentle path at the beginning with a steep, rocky, and dusty path toward the top. Watch for the turn off along main path to get to the actual top (small rock cairn which I appreciated). About 2.5 hours out and back. Bring lots of water in the summer!"
"Strenuous hike straight up the mountain from the first north fork mountain trailhead on Smoke Hole Rd, but well worth it for the stunning views!"
"I hiked up on the North fork mt trail, and took the Landis trail on the way down which is the easier of the two. There are a couple beautiful camping spots for those who want to stay for the night. Well worth the hike!!"
"An amazing experience! The 5.4 mile trail is an in and out, the initial 1.6miles take you to a series of outcrops for birds eye views of the valley and cabins, WV. Continue from here for the real treat, the access to Chimney Rock. The hike is a bit of a grinder, so expect frequent stops but all worth it when you reach this monolith. more info at intotheyonder.com"
