"We stayed here with friends. The sites and facilities were well kept. The Park Service does a terrific job with maintenance. Sites are well labeled and they have a mixture of first-come, first-serve and reservable sites. We hiked a portion of the Appalachian Trail around the campground. The views were breathtaking. The trip up Skyline Parkway to campsite was foggy, but we were able to travel slowly."
"We stayed at Loft Mountain Campground for 5 nights in October and had a fantastic time. We reserved our initial campsite on the top of the mountain but it was super windy, and so we switched to one of the first-come-first-served campsites and were much happier. The Appalachian trail ran just behind our site, the restrooms were clean, and a convenient water source nearby."

Ranger Mark Doty was so helpful in helping us choose a better campsite we had chosen earlier. He was patient answering all of our question! He suggested several great hikes and sites to check out! This campground has many fantastic trails around the campground as well as Appalachian Trail!"
"Loft Mountain is beautiful and a good strategic camping spot to use as a base to explore the southern areas of the park. Full of wildlife and diverse enough campsites for group camping a solo missions. We'll definitely be going again in the future, it was very easy for us to roll up and get a spot this time of year."
