"My children have received tretatment from Meichell for the past 3.5 years. I was referred to Meichell by several people in the Hampton Roads community. I was searching for a Licensed Counsleor who had experience seeing both children and adults and one who had experience seing children through a traumatic life event (i.e. family death, divorce, etc.) It was important to me to find a person who listens without judgement, who takes the time to understand the background of events, and who I could trust with her advice, recommendations and support. Meichell is a true professional! In her sessions she is able to get children to open up and communciate about subjects or topics they may not normailly discuss outside of a therapy session. Through her work I have seen improvement in my children's overall mental and emotional health. Behavior at school and in social settings has drastically improved, and overall they are moving forward in a postive direction in their daily life. They have learned to effectively communicate and "open up" more with me about topics that perhaps they used to shy away from discussing in the past and this has improved my relationship with them. At the end of each session, Meichell would talk one on one with me and she was always professional, concise, positive, and I would leave each session knowing that my children were receiving excellent treatment.
