"We hit this trail on News Eve and had it all to ourselves! It was a peaceful cool morning. We took the loop counter clockwise which made it all downhill to the fall then a steep climb to a gradual incline to finally some downhill to the finish line. The falls were very rewarding! There were a couple sections of the trail that were rocky where you had to do a little scramble. The hike took us about 3 hours and that was including breaks and pictures. Lewis Falls was a great way to end the year."
"Get away from the crowds. Feel the breeze, listen to the birds and the swaying of the trees until you hear the water. From the campground, 1.3 mile one way. All shade but gets humid. Bring plenty of water and wear good shoes on this hike."
"Great view with both ice and water! Be careful though. Photos taken on 11/20/2022."
"Lewis Falls is a beautiful short hike but a steep up and down. My four year old made it down and back up with minimal assistance, but needed a good break upon reaching the falls. There was just enough water at the bottom when we went in July to wade in and splash around, but not enough to swim in. The trail was a bit crowded, get there early to grab a parking spot."
"the waterfall at the end is very rewarding however the Lewis trail from the campground is a rough trail with lots of rocks and decline elevation on the way there and the Appalachian trail on way back to campground is incline most of the way but not as many rocks. The hike took me about 4 hours and that was including breaks and pictures"
