Reviews of Shawnee Springs Preserve
"By the train tracks is a little nature preserve with trails inviting you to find solitude. Latte in hand from nearby Hopscotch Coffee & Records, I entered behind Evergreen. Walk by a sign that talks about the preserve’s history and pass through the forest, stopping at yoga stations and instructions that teach you how to hug a tree. It’s a small respite!"
"Very scenic in some parts. They have a section called "healing trail" as seen in the picture. It's not bad for a walk or leisurely bike ride. It is a little short though, so no go for long distance run or bike. The signs where the green circle trail was were confusing though."
"The small parking area was .2 mile from where Google thinks it is based on the address. It is off Openquon. Directions are on the website. It would be helpful to have a sign facing the other direction and about 40 feet closer to the road. As for the trail when you find it, it is a basic crushed rock trail through a small wooded area. A nice place to walk or run with your dog."
"Nice trail. Make sure to wear bug spray. Some plants on the trail need trimming. It's dog friendly."
"First time here today. Very pleased, and I look forward to going back. Navigation sent me to the side of the park, not the parking lot. But a drove around and found it. The steam is very nice, "babbling brook" in many places. So are both the paved and unpaved trails. There are a few funny signs from the parks departments about yoga spaces, and hugging trees. Very nicely connected to the Winchester Green Circle pathway."
