Blue Ridge Physical Therapy

"I can't say enough good things about this physical therapy practice! I became a patient about one year ago, when I was suffering from debilitating lower back pain and after countless epidural pain med/steroid injections, my pain management specialists could do nothing else to help me. Paperwork was started to get me approved for a spine stimulator implant. This was definitely a last resort (who do you know who is happy they had spinal surgery??). I decided to go a different route with PT. After visiting another PT practice (part of the large healthcare conglomerate), I decided to try BRPT. I am SO thankful I did. Long story, short: These are consummate and compassionate professionals who know their practice. Instead of being another number, I was treated like family. As it turned out, the issue was not my back; both of my hips needed to be replaced, due to severe previously undiagnosed arthritis. Even though my surgeon said PT wouldn't be necessary(?!), BRPT prepared me for my first replacement in July and the other one in November. Doing pre-hab, as well as rehab for each surgery truly made the difference. Here I am almost a year later and I feel like a new person! If you're still reading this, you may be wondering about the people who work at this practice. Here are some specifics: Dr. Kim - This amazing lady is the perfect mix of smarts, skill and spirit of service. She always took the time to listen to my concerns and provide excellent plans in developing my treatments. She's developed a practice that is warm and inviting, while being remarkably effective. She is also talented at choosing her therapist assistants (who implement her intricately developed PT plans) and staff. Vicky - This wonderful lady was my first therapist assistant. She is a gentle and lovely calming influence, which is exactly what I needed when I first started out and was in so much pain. Jaime - Due to a scheduling change, I started seeing Jamie, my second therapist assistant. She is incredibly smart and savvy. She printed off additional exercises for me to target my latest problems, which helped me tremendously. She was the first healthcare provider I had in all my years of chronic pain to suggest that my issues were possibly caused by my hips, rather than my lower back. Days later, her guess was confirmed by my orthopedic surgeon. She helped me through the pre-hab and rehab for my first hip and was so compassionate and instrumental in my recovery. Stan - Stan helped me out when I had my other hip done. Although I have a sneaking suspicion he used to be in the military, he is so supportive, knowledgeable and an intuitive practitioner. He can pinpoint the source of my pain with such precision and also provides me with stretches that I can do on my own that have been game-changers for me. He literally taught me how to train myself to walk properly again ("lead by your belly button!"). Sharon is the office manager and does a little bit of everything. She is always busy, but always kind. The office runs so smoothly because of her. Abbie is at the front desk and is a multitasker extraordinaire with the sweetest disposition on the phone and in person. Also, her Halloween and Christmas costumes are absolutely incredible! This office celebrates something every month of the year, which makes going there that much more warm and appealing. Kailee and Bob keep things running smoothly, filling in to help wherever needed. They are both a pleasure. Chronic pain can wear a person down physically and emotionally. Fortunately for me, everyone I met at BRPT was there for me at each visit, supporting me through the tough times and sincerely celebrating my wins. I owe each of the people in this practice a debt of gratitude. Without a doubt, I highly recommend this practice!"
