Reviews of Buchanan Place Health and Rehabilitation
"My 87-year-old father has been in Buchanan Place for about a week now. He has had some good and bad experiences. The biggest problem is getting his pain meds on time. I was told by a worker there that there was a CNA just fired for stealing patients' medication, but I am sure that is a problem everywhere these days. The rehabilitation people are top notch and kind. Some of the patients wander in and out of other patients' rooms and due to short staffing, they are unable to keep watch of all the patients all the time."
"They are are a rehab facility and they know how to get there patients back up on their feet. They do what my mother in law can not but at the same time they push her gently to do things for her self which is something no one could get her to do at home. She is enjoying being with people ger own age and loves bingo and the therapy dog."

"So far, they are living up to their poor reputation. The only reason she is there is because we had no other option, according to social worker at hospital. My mother has only been there for around 8 hours and I am going to do everything in my power to get her moved to another facility tomorrow. I’ve already seen concerning things regarding other patients-fallen halfway out of wheelchairs, crying in their beds with their call button going off and no one is coming to check on them, dirty laundry piled in hallways. My poor mother is laying in the facility with no pain management for a femur break and extensive repair. She gets blank stares or brushed off when she asks for bathroom assistance or pain medicine. I’ve called to find out why her pain isn’t being managed and received no answer. We are absolutely not impressed-my veterinarian gives better post op care and pain management to dogs and cats. Not a good first impression. Update: just a little over 30 hours in this dump and my mother has had one pain pill, and that is due to the one nurse that we have met who has any desire to actually care for patients. She is the only one who has helped in any real way. She has received no PT. We are two days without PT now. Also, because no one will help her to potty chair, and she didn’t want to spend the night in a wet bed, she asked for a diaper. In 24 hrs, she has had two diapers. They leaked and now her hip to foot bandage that is covering her incisions from her surgery is soiled. No one does vitals, no one checks her blood sugar, they forgot her for dinner and still haven’t provided anything at 10:45 at night. We are working on a transfer with little to no help from them. I will camp out there until they facilitate this move. I will also call her surgeon to explain what’s going. PLEASE do not ever send your loved ones to this facility!"
"Our Mother recently passed away at Diversicare of Claborne County The staff at this facility was amazing and always took exceptional care of her. We cannot come up with the words to be able to thank everyone there enough. The level of care along with the compassion from each person they she or us had to deal with. I would highly recommend this facility for anyone wanting great care for there loved one."
