"Medicap on North Virginia Ave is a privately owned pharmacy that knows you and your medicine needs. The Pharmacist Mel and Scott, and probably some fill ins I don't know are always friendly, helpful, compassionate professionals that will help with all your pharmacy needs. They deliver in the city for sure and their drivers Matt and Jim are great prompt and very dependable. All staff from techs to clerks treat you with respect and dignity, not like a big box store number as in many Chain pharmacies."
"I give them five stars because the staff does an amazing job at helping customers BUT they can be too kind to the point of slowing down service. I am not a customer here, however I do pick up medication for my elderly in-laws. The staff is so helpful and friendly, but they can be too accommodating and helpful to the point that it slows down the drive through. I have witnessed many times while waiting in line at the drive through people asking the staff to get nonprescription items like Tylenol or vitamins through the drive through instead of the people walking into the store. The staff is so sweet that they do so to help these people, and might I add most of those individuals are able bodied and can walk into the store to shop for herself/himself. This act of superior customer service only slows down the drive through making it an extra long wait. A drive through is about quick service. Some days I utilize the in store pick up window because the line gets so long in the drive through. A pharmacy drive through is for dropping off prescriptions or picking up prescriptions not for customers that are not willing to shop for themselves nor is it a place for the customer to argue with pharmacy staff about copays and why something is not ready for them yet. For example, over the summer there was a long line because a man and woman in a van refused to move because there was an issue with insurance (I only know this because I was a car and I had my windows down and I could hear a woman yelling at a pharmacy staff member about how she should not have to pay anything for any medicine). I would like to suggest to customers to call ahead for your nonprescription needs so the staff can gather your things BEFORE you arrive at the pharmacy drive through or you could go inside and shop for yourself and meet some extra friendly and attractive staff members that will go the extra mile for you. And if there is an issue with your insurance or prescription go inside and talk to a staff member, they will help you. And might I add some advice to customers, I worked in customer service and health care for nearly five decades before retiring I have never witnessed such nasty treatment towards healthcare workers like I do at pharmacies. The people that work in pharmacies are licensed healthcare professionals that provide a service and look out for your health and medicine needs, they deserve to be treated with the same respect as your nurse or your doctor so next time you visit this pharmacy or any other pharmacy please show them some respect and courtesy because you would be surprised how much kindness can go a long way with those pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy cashiers helping you when you need them. Keep up the great work Medicap, some of us appreciate you! I’m returning to change my star rating to a 3- like I’ve stated in my previous post I do not get prescriptions here. We have started helping my aging in-laws with their medicine. The staff went above and beyond with helping guide us on how to transfer prescriptions and getting non-prescription medicines to them. We have experienced great customer service with the majority of the staff until some recent interactions with one member, I believe her name is Stephanie or Tiffany- something ending in “effanee”. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe the person is having a bad day but both interactions with her have come across as snarky and condescending- maybe she is just a miserable person, IDK. My husband has suggested whenever we need to call the pharmacy we ask for someone else if Stephanie/Tiffany answers the phone. I am not writing this in hoping someone gets fired, I’m hoping this will bring attention to management that some customer service by some staff is subpar. Sadly one bad apple can ruin an entire harvest. My in-laws will continue to utilize Medicap because the majority of the staff has been so kind and helpful and my in-laws love the quick and free delivery service and low prices."
"While the delivery guys are fantastic, my partner and I just went through a surreal situation with the pharmacy staff. Preparing for a new insurance plan for 2023, we were moving some meds to our insurance company's mail order pharmacy in order to save money. This is the same division we've used wherever we've lived. While we were having a telephone conference with our insurance agent, I received an angry phone call from Scott Miller, one of the pharmacists, refusing to fill 5 medications that I'd requested via LocalRx. In his words, he demanded that "all" of our medications be filled at Medicap: "All or nothing." Mr. Miller attempted to imply that this mixed arrangement wasn't safe when I'd had an insurance pharmacist review and approve all of my meds 3 weeks prior and Medicap had no objections to any combination of my meds during the months we had to use them because of COVID-related sketchy postal service for a mail delivery arrangement. This rude, unprofessional, and shocking behavior was also dangerous as they'd refused to forward current prescriptions to the new pharmacy or to fill necessary drug as opposed to forcing us to wait for the mail prescriptions to be mailed. However, because a pharmacist from our insurance company as well as our agent overheard this diatribe, our meds were filled and shipped immediately and received the following day. BTW, we're saving over $2K/year using our mail order option."
"This app used to be good but recently I started noticing that it won't let me refill scripts on the app for some reason...not sure why. Also when I put in my zip, it only shows me the location furthest away from where I live, even though there's a medicap on Virginia Ave in Harrisonburg, Virginia, 3 miles closer to where I live. Strange!"
"They know their customers by name. Quality hometown service. It's been 5 years since my last review. I still give them a 5 star review! They also are very aware of their customers needs. They are willing to go the extra mile. I highly recommend them."
