Reviews of Kenneth Barron
"I have explored many endometriosis excision specialists in the DC/MD/VA area and finally decided to seek out Dr. Barron based on reviews in endo communities and since he trained at the CEC. Dr. Barron has exceeded my expectations and I highly, highly recommend him. Dr. Barron has an excellent bedside manner so really listens and addresses his patients’ concerns. I am the kind of patient who asks dozens of intricate questions and Dr. Barron expertly answered all of these to my satisfaction. His medical history intake was very detail-oriented and extremely thorough. I was likewise impressed by the physical exam as it really showcased that he understands endometriosis very well. Dr. Barron did my over 5-hour surgery with only 3 incisions in total, which is certainly an impressive feat. This was my best recovery, too, as Dr. Barron left no trapped lap gas and overall I could physically tell that he did a much better, more thorough job than his predecessors. Dr. Barron was also very responsive when I had questions ahead of surgery and even thereafter. This medical practice also takes health insurance and has a short wait time for appointments, which is rare for Dr. Barron’s level of expertise in endo excision. Even if you aren’t local to Charlottesville, seeing Dr. Barron is definitely worth the drive!"
"I have never been a patient here, but considering multiple interactions involved me, I thought it was fair to share them, and what has happened since my talk with Lynda. The reply to Sharon's post was a lie. A few days after it was left, she set up an appointment. Sharon thought she could at least talk to them and see if he was sincere in what he said, and if she had taken things wrong. That is just her, she doesn't like misunderstandings, even if someone seems unreasonable. But she definitely found out she was right. Later that day, Lynda called and got after her for sharing her experience, she took no responsibility for their part. I talked to Lynda earlier, and twice was told DR Barron would call, but he never did. She told Sharon she talked to DR Barron, and he said Sharon could set up an appointment, and they would talk. Sharon asked her when she told me that, she kept saying times, and when shown those times weren't possible and why she mumbled, "Well I didn't record what was said." Then quickly put Sharon on hold. When she came back, she said she talked to DR Barron, and because of her "former actions," (sharing her experience.) they would not see her, in contrast to his claims. However, this started before Sharon shared what happened. When I was waiting during her surgery, I got up to walk around. While gone, DR Barron came out to the waiting room, I wasn't there, so he called. However, I was on the way back and saw a doctor in the waiting room, I asked if it was him, he said, "no." I was sure it was and went up to him. He saw me, turned away, and covered his face with his arm. I sat down and watched. When we hung up, it was at exactly the same time, and everything during the call matched up. Since then, he has ignored what Sharon says, and when she contacted him, said what was happening and why she didn't think he handled things the best, he ignored it. They claim yes, they do care about her experience, not considering their actions. Lynda said she would "NEVER EVER, leave a negative review for a doctor." Do you cover for them or what? What do you expect after treating someone this way? Lynda said the review would make people not want to come. We don't wish them any harm, they just need to be fair. What is wrong with telling the truth if you are respectful? I know Sharon feels what she originally said was to blunt, however what she addressed was accurate. shouldn't everyone be open to receiving positive and negative opinions? If they gave Sharon the same chances she gave them, they never would have gotten a negative review. She isn't that type unless someone mistreats anybody or anything. Actions have consequences, and things are seldom all one-sided. Also, the review isn't for them or intended as an offense, although I understand why it feels it is. It's so other people are aware. Sharon once told a doctor who is doing an operation for her soon, she wasn't comfortable with something, he was very understanding and apologized. That built trust and confidence in him, and shows maturity. Lynda even got after Sharon for the questions she asked to the reply to her review. She said it is "difficult to build a doctor patient relationship when posting negative reviews." When Sharon said a relationship goes both ways, she had no response. Sharon told Lynda she thinks DR Barron is a smart doctor, Lynda said, "YEAH," but when Sharon said ignoring an issue is not smart, she again had no reply. She hinted that the issues started before her surgery, even though Sharon's review clearly states why that's wrong. Lynda, we are very sorry for what you are dealing with. With some things we have dealt with I think we can sympathize a tiny bit. But that doesn't change that other people's issues need to be dealt with as well. We would NEVER EVER minimize your issues. We have no ill feelings and forgive what was done. It's just sad someone could treat someone else so badly and feel people should be aware this is a real possibility here. We wish them well and are thankful someone has been willing to help where they fell short."
"Dr.Barron and his staff after top notch. Very kind and knowledgeable and they make you feel SO comfortable. That's great to have when you're about to have surgery. He cares and has always returned my phone calls when I was in pain."
"Dr. Barron is so kind. I am so grateful for all he and his team have done for me. Before meeting him, my pain was constantly dismissed by many doctors. The pain was encroaching on my quality of life so I searched for the best endometriosis specialist out there. I believe Dr. Barron fits that bill. He made me feel heard and well cared for. Through the entire process and recovery we've had several follow up appointments so I didn't feel like I was left to figure anything out on my own. If I ever need a laparoscopic surgery again, I'd travel anywhere he practiced to receive that same quality of care."
