"New patient, waited 3 months for my appt. Snowed that's day, opened after my appointment time. Waited for a call back to reschedule, I finally called and they said it would be 5 months wait til my appointment. Scheduling clerk was very rude and cocky. Very dismissive... I will never recommend UVA primary care Waynesboro to anyone."
"I needed to find a Primary care provider here in Va. I was with my previous PCP in Maryland over 25 years. I was so nervous this initial visit. From check in to check out EVERYONE was professional and so kind. I had my intake with Kelli nd she was wonderful! So easy to talk to and explain my history to. She is very thorough and made me feel at ease. my exam was with Jennifer Blosser and instantly meeting her my worries subsided. She is the best! kind, professional and explains in detail that you understand what she is saying. I am definitely pleased !"
"I scheduled in December 2021 for June 2022 for primary care new patient with their only female provider- ridiculous wait to begin with for primary care for a NP, not MD, when most specialists (who are MDs) are 2-3 months’ wait. Now fast forward just 2 weeks before my appointment that I’ve waited 6 MONTHS FOR and they call to cancel on me and say I can rebook for NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2022! Sure, someone can’t plan that their baby came a little early, but evidently she was taking off 6 months after having the baby—which they FAILED to mention to this critical piece of info to me when scheduling for this appointment (or call to tell me as soon as they knew if they didn’t know when I scheduled) that I could do the initial appointment but that then she’d be gone for 6 months literally right after my appointment, making it completely USELESS for me to have waited over 6 MONTHS for this appointment to begin with! That was a planned thing to be gone that long (aren’t people usually off a few weeks or few months for this?) and critical piece of info to tell a new patient who was waiting that long that their new “provider” would be gone 6 months (excessive amount of time that people should’ve been informed of, normal is what a couple months for that) right away after your initial appointment, and they failed to tell me that either when scheduling or let me know when they knew and let me waste my time waiting when I could’ve gotten on a waitlist somewhere else! They screwed this up for me wasting my time when I could’ve waited for somewhere else that wasn’t going to be like this. A 6 month wait was absolutely ridiculous for primary care NP to begin with and now this… To top it off, they STILL haven’t hired a second female provider for primary care 6 months later!! If you have a 6+ month wait, you need more people. Primary care for just a NP wait shouldn’t be double what a specialist (MD) is. I told them forget it; I’m not waiting another 6 months and sure this would happen again if she’s gone 6 months where they won’t warn patients of that until the provider is already out."
"Let me start off by saying a few things. Dr. Emily was recommended to me by my mom. She had nothing but kind words to say about dr. Emily . I have had a hard time wanting to or even feel like going to a new doctor since my dad passed away and on top of that my original doctor (that I adore) was moving. Well my asthma was getting worse and the walk in place I have been going to said I needed to get to a family doctor. So here we go my first appointment was in November and was strictly about my asthma there was no full check up going to be done and I was fine with that. I just needed to get my asthma under control. Dr. Emily prescribed what I needed but it took DAYS!! for emilys office to electronically fax my prescriptions to my pharmacy! I didnt understand why it took so long and I was getting the run around by her office but I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and be understanding maybe they are just to busy to. we are in a pandemic. But after many back in forth trips to my pharmacy and back in forth phone calls with emilys office they was finally able to fax the medications for my asthma. Emily wanted to see me back in a few weeks so I made that appointment before I left her office my first visit. The second visit was the worst!! Its a few days before Christmas around 130pm was my appointment time I even arrived early. I was in the exam room in walks emily the first thing out her mouth was " I have some where to be at 5:30 so we need to stay on time" (I should have got up in left right then in there but I had came down with a sinus infection and I could feel fluid in my ears) I preceded to tell her my symptoms very quickly and dr. Emily actually cut me off and said "my visit was only scheduled for only 15 minutes" I begged her to just look in my ears she did seen the fluid she pushed on my face (im assuming to see if I had pressure...I did). She would not/did not look in my nose or throat. Her nurse name was emily as well I asked her after the visit was over when they was going to send in the prescriptions and she told me before I left the room that all prescription had to be sent in the day of visit before 3pm. Well they was not sent in that day or the next it was December 23 and finally just like the first visit I made multiple calls to emilys office and was getting the run around from them as to why it was not sent in agian. I had enough and went up there and had to demanded my prescriptions be faxed right then. They finally was able to do it. So after 2pm days after the doctor visit once agian I was finally able to get my medicine!! I was on the medication for 5 days felt literally no better called the doctor on call very nice man dr seaton did his best to prescribe me a new medication with out having never seeing me. He also was kind enough to fax the prescription to my pharmacy as soon as we hung up. I really appreciated that. I would also like to mention my mom needed a refill on a medication and dr emily office was able to refill her medication and even give her a courtesy call that very same day saying that her medication had been faxed!!! I couldn't believe my ears!! Not sure why they didn't treat me very nice but I hope they keep treating my mom good. So do I recommend this place NO!"
"Not recommended. I will say the front office staff is very nice and helpful. Dr. Seaton, however, is not recommended. We took our family member to him for a few years. As our family member got older he/she developed multiple medical issues including serious heart issues . When he/she would go for 3 month appt. our family member and we would bring this up to the doctor but he only wanted to address one medical issue and did not address heart issues which were getting progressively worse. He did not look at the total patient. Well, our family member ended up in the hospital three times for this heart issue--hospitalizations that could have been avoided if he would have listened to his patient/patient's family and evaluated our family member properly. Our family member is going to a new physician. This practice is not up to par with the usual UVA offices."
