"I had a very negative experience with this doctor. I needed help with some paper-work so that I could take "unpaid time off" from work in my last trimester and received a lot of pushback from Dr. Crowther. Dr. Crowther lacked empathy and said that there were a lot of "high-risk" IVF pregnancies during the COVID pandemic and they came out fine. I work in a high pace high stress retail pharmacy environment. My work location does COVID testing for ~40-50 patients a day, I am in closed contact with 50-70 patients a day for Flu Shots/COVID shots... I am on my feet for the entire duration of my shift and just the demands of the job + COVID risk is just not safe for my high risk IVF pregnancy. Instead of showing empathy she states that there are pregnant ICU nurses dealing with COVID patients and they still have to work. It just angers me that she took our concerns so lightly and with her ignorance she nonchalantly compared an ICU nurse to a retail pharmacist. An ICU nurse that deals with a COVID patient at least knows that they are dealing with someone + and can take the necessary precaution; how many patients do they get in closed contact with compared to a retail pharmacy setting? By no means am I discrediting the role nurses played in overcoming this pandemic but this is just a bad comparison. I understand that sometimes there are roadblocks and your hands are tied but all I really wanted was some sympathy from an OBGYN whose mission is to care for pregnant women and to fully have their back in unusual circumstances. COVID has only been around for a mere 2 years... that's 2 full pregnancy term... medicine DOES NOT have a full understanding of COVID and the risks that it has on pregnant women. The CDC considers pregnant women to be high risk for severe illness... yet Dr. Crowther could not be "creative" in finding a way to help me. I was not seeking "paid time off" or "medical disability", just personal leave with some peace of mind that I will be able to return to the same job position. I truly hope this review can help guide those seeking an OBGYN who actually cares."
