"I don't understand the woman's review below re weight. Dr. Diamond is a highly trained medical professional (not to mention extremely empathetic, so I am shocked by the 1-star review)...it's her job to tell her patients if it's in their best interest to lose weight. Obesity is one of the leading causes of death in this country, and it seems like Dr. Diamond was just doing her job: saving lives. I don't know the specifics of this woman's case, but it's unlikely that a physician who doesn't specialize in weight loss would bring up weight loss if they didn't feel it was medically necessary to do so. I know it's a sensitive subject, but to give a doctor a 1-star review over something that's uncomfortable to admit really isn't right. Also, it's worth noting she has her MPH, and obesity is a public health crisis, so perhaps the below patient should really take the doctor's recommendations to heart. Dr. Diamond is a walking encyclopedia. Her wealth of medical knowledge knows no bounds. She's tremendously helpful with all of my healthcare questions and I feel safer, healthier, and more confident in my medical care simply for knowing her. While I no longer live in VA, I always joke to my husband that we will move to VA should we decide to have children because there's no other OB/GYN I'd trust with my life and my fetus's development as much as I trust Dr. Diamond! I highly recommend her to anyone in the area looking for a new OB/GYN."
