Reviews of Dogtopia of Gainesville
"Everyone at Dogtopia makes me feel so comfortable leaving my pup there! They have great availability for daycare, and they offer lots of fun "extras" every month! My dog loves going to daycare!"
"I am always pleased when people take the caring of my Rottweiler Geoffrey serious. Geoffrey is very energetic and he loves being allowed to play like a dog and interact with other dogs under noninvasive supervision."
"Dogtopia is such a wonderful experience for my dog Savage. He loves it there! The general manager has been with Savage since he was a small puppy! The staff there have their hands full."
"I absolutely hate giving negative reviews. 98% of my reviews are positive. I was in customer care as well as management for over 30 years in various fields and know the importance of giving kudos to those who truly care about the public. This is one of those times when every aspect of an establishment screamed, "Run as quick as you can from here."I would give this place zero stars if possible. I have experience with dogs for 30 years. During that time, I have trained dogs and owned dogs. My sister was a vet tech and Master Groomer. She would be appalled at the place just as I am. First, as soon as I stepped inside, the smell of urine was overwhelming. The staff seemed extremely disorganized and were far from being courteous. I stood at the front desk for well over 15 minutes without any recognition from staff. Eventually, I had to say , "Excuse me, when you have a moment, I have some questions." About five minutes later, they made themselves available to assist me. I asked if I could view the areas that my pup would be in as I am a responsible pet owner and never leave my pup at a daycare where I cannot first view the areas he will be in and observe how the staff interacts with the dogs. I was informed, very curtly, by an individual who identified themselves as the manager, that this was not allowed. One of their reasons for this was that it was disturbing to the dogs, which is ludicrous based on other establishments I have been to. I was told that the only way to view where my pup would be was via the cameras. This would be fine except that there were noticeable blind spots that did not allow me to see what was going on with the dogs in those areas. And, to be honest, based on my observations and the way customers were being treated, I am not sure that I want to see what is going on just out of view of the camera. I later discovered that the dogs are crated for much of their time there, that they are understaffed for the number of dogs that they have at any given time, and; therefore, this, in my 30 years of experience with dogs, presented a danger to the dogs. The playoom was crammed with dogs with no visible supervision. I suppose there was supervision in the blind spots of the camera angles. However, I never assume anything. At no time did I view, via the cameras, any staff in the play area with the dogs. They were left to their own devices. Add to this the stench that permeated the place, and you get a recipe for disaster. It is just a matter of time before a dog is injured or becomes sick from the unclean environment. Due to the unhygienic environment, lack of staff interacting in a constructive or any manner whatsoever with the dogs, inability to see where my dog would be kenneled and view the entire play area, and the rude way that I was dealt with, I would never entrust my dog to their care."
"My dog LOVES going to Dogtopia! His tail starts wagging as soon as we pull into the parking lot! The staff is friendly and professional. They have an app that allows you to see cameras of the different play rooms. Recommend the facilities to anyone."
