"After a few years, the returns have been awful. One account is down and the other has barely any return. I would have done better putting my money in a shoe box."
"Good luck withdrawing funds from your account. Whenever I tried to I got an error & when I called to have them withdraw it for me they couldn't do, but "don't worry we'll have I.T. look into" & either they don't have an I.T. department or it's ran by monkeys on keyboards because they've never been able to fix any issue I've had. Most importantly they're pretty bad at investing & I'm at a loss of $200 because of them."
"I would give zero stars if I could. The makers of this website don't have two brain cells to rub together. I was trying to make a reoccurring contribution for my goddaughter and can't get past the update profile screen. It doesn't recognize and address I put in. I will likely try to pull this money out and put it elsewhere- I don't trust this site or the people who run it."
"This is indeed the worst website I have ever used. I seriously doubt the company that designed this website had some especial relations with Virginia529's CEO, CIO, or other executives. Otherwise, they wouldn't have given the website design company a pass. If anybody disagrees, please tell me you, as a first user of this website, can use this website to create an account, contribute money to your account, and withdraw the money when you need it, by following the instructions on the website without previous experience and without other people's help!"
"Terrible!!! Do not use 529 Virginia!!! I invested my entire life savings in my son's education, and when the time came to access the funds, they made it seem easy until it was time to actually use the money. They will do everything possible to delay releasing your funds. It's much better to consider using Charles Schwab or Vanguard instead. The individuals who answer the phone are the BEST, but those who avoid calls that are behind the desk and handle processes are terrible!!!!!!"
