"Wonderful!, a unique opportunity to learn about the Atlantic barrier islands and the people who inhabited them. Docents are inviting, knowledgeable, and helpful. A great stop for visitors to the Eastern Shore"
"Lovely time capsule of a culture now lost. Beautiful video to watch. Nice exhibits on 2nd floor. More hunting artifacts in the attic. Friendly staff. Free admission, donations recommended. Nice place to pull off the highway and learn about local culture."
"I'm so glad we stopped. The women there were lovely and knowledgeable and there were so many great photos. But the highlight for me as someone who works in museums was the curation to really show the spaces and how things were used. You won't just find a white cube gallery here. The spaces felt alive. I highly recommend stopping"
"This is a fantastic museum, but there’s one flaw. Most of the exhibits are on the second floor and there’s no access to the second floor for people with limited mobility. I went up and took a bunch of pictures while my wife had to wait on the first floor. With that said, it’s a great place to learn about life in the barrier islands. It’s artfully curated and very well laid out. The people who work there really like what they do and it shows."
"Wow, I’m so glad we found this wonderful museum on our trip down to the southern end of ESVA! This museum is really beautifully executed, and well organized. We saw many facets of early eastern shore life that were fascinating as well as unknown to us. We will definitely be back! They have a very cool planter type box out front where the kids can hunt (and find!) for shark teeth - that was a big hit with our little ones."
