"I wanted to enjoy my birthday night uptown. I booked a corner room because i wanted to be able to see the city in every angle of my roomn. When I got to the 15th floor, I was impressed with the room's layout and decorum. The room was cold, even though the thermostat was on 74°F. There was a draft, especially around the bed. I turned the thermostat to 80°. After 2 hours and room service for dinner, it was still cold. I called the front desk for them to send me an extra blanket. After 3 hours, it was still cold in the room. I called the front desk, and they sent an "air engineer" to the room. She was able to 'fix' the problem. The room was still cold. I went to the desk because no one answered when I called. I wanted to get a new room. By this time, it was midnight. The rep asked for my ID. I left it in the room. I had to go back upstairs for my ID. When I got back to the desk, the rep switched my room to another corner room. He asked if I had to go back to the room. I told him yes because I had to get my stuff. Another rep accompanied me to my old room to open the door. The new room was much better and the temperature was set perfectly."
"This is the supposed manager of this location. Her name is Nicole. As you can see she’s trying to cover her name tag. Why? I had an Explorer form that had expired. Susan, the associate at the moment, stated that it expired and they would have to revert my rate to normal and charge the full amount. This has happened to me before and the staff was always gracious enough to allow me time to get an updated form and check in. I explained this and she rudely stated that’s how it works here. I then asked her where her name tag was because she wasn’t wearing one. Another failure on management and maybe why she felt so bold. She then smartly suggests she get a manager and I agree. The supposed manager, Nicole, comes and tells me my form is fraudulent and has the wrong name. I asked her to tell me the name on the form and she stated, “I don’t have to tell you that.” To which I stated “ As I thought” because she was outright lying. She then proceeds to tell me she’s canceling my reservation because I was being aggressive. I then asked for the general manager and she refused and also advised her associate to refuse to speak to me and then proceeded to call the police. I have never in my life been treated like this at a Marriott property. I am hurt, ashamed and furious. This young lady has no respect for Marriot or its guests. The hospitality industry has very tough competition and behavior such as hers has no place in a place where guests come to feel safe and welcomed. Her behavior is disgusting and I need to speak to the General Manager asap."
"Nothing to write home about. Valet service was super lousy. The front desk was super polite and efficient. The room was fine. Horrible coffee in the room. Great breakfast. Fair price. Basically, this was the definition of a 3 star hotel. I might try JW next door next time."
"Great Hotel. Roosevelt at the door absolutely made our trip. His friendliness and charisma made us feel like we were at home and was very inviting. He also provided some great food recs that were outstanding. Nice hotel with an even better staff. Roosevelt, you’re the man!"
"In my opinion this is one of the nicest hotels in Charlotte. The lobby is open and spacious and very pretty. The rooms are big enough and the ones own upper floors have a beautiful view of the city. It is very close to Bank of America stadium where the Panthers play. It is also close to other bars and restaurants."
