Reviews of Tivoli Gardens Apartments
"I lived at Tivoli Gardens for one year and it wasn't bad. The building is old so lower your expectations on amenities and features. There is a gym but no rooftop or pool. I did have a pest problem and most people in the building probably do. The only difference is they may not contact pest control which will affect you, if you live nearby. I will suggest you watch your clothes when washing downstairs. I didn't have an issue with theft but you may find your clothes mixed with someone else clothes while paying for dryer use. The parking is horrible which is out of TG control. The staff definitely helped as best as they could but be realistic when moving here. The rent was cheaper than normal for DC so you get what you pay for. I never really had a noise issue. The community likes to play music and so do I. I hear more noise from outside than in the building. Lastly being walking distance to the infamous Target was convenient. The local stores such as Giant, Old Navy, and Best Buy is a perk including the local restaurants. The neighbors were friendly and closet space was nice."
"BED BUGS!!! For whatever reason my Google Review from March 1, 2023 appears to be hidden for some people, but I am posting again because the bed bugs problem is still persiting after Tivoli Gardens has sent someone to addresss the issue at least three times now. ----my review still stands: If I could give 0 stars, then I would. As a resident living here, my packages being stolen was unfortunately not the worst thing to happen to me. My apartment has now been uninhabitable for over a month (now going on two months). I keep my apartment clean and do everything else necessary to keep pest out, but the bed bug problem that other people have mentioned is true. My first recourse was going to the leasing office to report the bed bug infestation in my apartment; however, some of the staff took my concern very lightly. Following my initial report, Tivoli Gardens allegedly sent someone out to treat my apart and the treatment did nothing because the bed bug problem persisted and I have continued to be bitten. Now here I am going into another month waiting for my apartment to be sufficiently treated and in the mean time I've been told false dates of service and I am still being bitten. This is no way a resident should have to live. I have attached pictures of the bites and a picture of one of the bed bugs I found in the apartment I am renting at Tivoli Gardens."
"One of the best place to live in Washington DC, studio/ 1,2,BDR are amazing, we can't forget the walking closet!!! Do not hesitate to live your experience. They are excellent team that will always been on top of your expectations, Asia, Lilly and Carol are the best coworkers I'll never forget... working like a family/ caring for each other... They are always looking better way to provide good services for the residents, and their concerns value. Ms. Carol keep it up you are a great person!!!"
"I enjoy where I live. The great sense of community and large space/layout of my apartment just to name a few. However, a lot of things have changed the past year regarding the lack of improved communication, over-worked/low security guard retention, and basic tenant services that seem too much of a hassle. I would consider these questions before moving here."
"Mostly cons: apartment has been treated for bed bugs but they keep coming back. It’s a huge problem in the building. Horrible stovetop burners that are crooked, doors always sticking, can’t control your own heat. Ceilings are very thin so can hear every step of people above you. There are also issues with their online rental payment system. The neighboring alley and street are very noisy and there is lots of crime in the vicinity. Pros: security guard presence, fitness center, nice Art Deco exterior, units are reasonably priced for the amount of space and neighborhood. But cons far outweigh the pros."
