Reviews of Quincy Plaza
"I've lived in several apartments throughout my life and have never had a better experience since I started living here. The staff is always welcoming and quick to help. Maintenance is always on top of things. The people who live here are also great I always feel safe. You won't go wrong living here!"
"Quincy Plaza/Dittmar had my truck towed from the “new resident” parking space on the day I moved in. We were too busy unloading the U-Haul in the bay to notice. Management’s response: Meh. Not our problem. After driving 900 miles, this was the welcome we got from the company the day I moved in. Thankfully I only had to stay 1 yr."
"We lived there for about 1 year. (2014-2015) Our appartment was on the 12th floor and have a good view. The appartment and floor were clean and pretty quiet. White goods, heating, air conditioning, etc. In case of any broken, the repair team will come immediately."
"I have lived at Quincy Plaza for about a year and have enjoyed my time thus far! My apartment is spacious for a 1 bedroom and I feel like I have just about any amenity that I could want. Management is fairly quick to respond to maintenance requests and someone is usually available at the front desk if I have questions. The apartment gym is new and spacious if you're someone who likes to workout. I don't personally use the community spaces (meeting room, community room, grilling patio) much but they are available for those who want to use them. I think you get a fair price for what you pay for when compared to the rest of the DC/Arlington area."
"Edit 12/11/2022: After the frustration of the last week, I've decided: One star. As their leasing office would say, "it's nothing personal!" Save yourself the frustration and the money and look somewhere else. -- Original post: I had a hard time deciding what rating to put for this place. I lived at Quincy Plaza for two years and enjoyed my time there—clean, well-maintained, professional for the most part. Then I gave them my notice to vacate. Suddenly I was on the hook for paying for an apartment I wasn’t living in for two months (60 days notice? Isn’t one of the virtues of apartment living that it’s supposed to be more flexible than owning a house, not less?). Then I paid what I thought was everything I owed—two months worth of rent—only for them threaten me with a collection company notice because I still owed money. What? Turns out, they also charged me a month-to-month premium because I wasn’t “on a lease term.” Once I give a notice to vacate that means our business is concluded—of course there’s no lease term after that—but naturally they’re a big company and use the language in the lease to get all the money out of you they can. It’s worth mentioning that I have talked to many of their staff directly since I submitted my notice. I explained that I was moving quite suddenly due to circumstances outside of my control and asked if we could negotiate; the answer was an abrupt “we respectfully decline.” The explanation a couple months later was that they have to treat everyone the same way according to Virginia law, which was interesting because they used all kinds of black magic to get me into that apartment two years ago and the “premium rate,” along with all rent rates, is set by Dittmar. Knowing what I know now I’m not sure I’d recommend them. It’s a good place to live yes, but extracting myself and my checking account is taking months, and frankly I think I might die on this “premium rate” hill even if it means going to a collection agency. If flexibility and finances are important to you, I would consider going with a smaller place that treats you like an individual and not just a contract."
