"Former resident, lived here 2 years. Pros: Very friendly and efficient concierge and maintenance staff; great location (walking distance to 2 metros and a Costco); decently-sized studio apartments; pretty safe neighborhood; easy mail/package pickup; rent is on the lower end compared to other buildings; has a pool and (small) gym. Cons: The office staff often do not take initiative to address/resolve concerns; heating/AC is controlled by the building and not reliable; only 3 elevators for 20 floors and 1 is usually broken or locked for use; visitor parking is very expensive ($10/day) and the parking garage itself is a nightmare (very tight and the door is often broken and stays open, leading to theft/damage); and the rent is, objectively, ridiculously high at $1600 for a 520 sq. ft. studio, not including utilities, pet fees, or parking (though this is more a reflection on the rental market in general). Overall, I had a fine, albeit occasionally frustrating, experience here; you could definitely do worse than the Point at Pentagon City."
"I have lived at Point at Pentagon City for 6 months now. I have loved it since the first day I took my tour to visit the apartment. The staff is very professional and welcoming. The community is wonderful and the neighborhood is very safe and pleasant to walk around. Just a few minutes from the metro and very close to shopping areas and DC."
"Priorities are askew here, with people being last. Tiffani, Kevin, and Mary are incredible, doing their best within the sphere of their control. Management, however, takes no ownership over indisputable neglect. Enduring solutions to fix recurring problems are ignored in favor of the cheapest, palliative options. The parking garage door has remained open for over a month. During this time, several motorcycles have been rendered inoperable by fledging criminals attempting to steal them. This could have been prevented if management had issued a public notice of such occurrences, or upon recognizing the potential of malfeasance, offered spaces on higher levels while awaiting the repair. To date, neither has been done. Another tenant’s vehicle was arbitrarily towed even though their parking tag was clearly displayed. Despite showing proof of addendum and payment for the parking space, the tenant’s plea to have this rectified was dismissed by management, who again, refuses to admit fault. These are only two of the more reprehensible examples of an ever-growing list of grievances. I would only recommend leasing this space to those who are willing to challenge their threshold of tolerance."
"I lived here for 3 years. It’s mostly fine but as some reviewers have noted the A/C situation is horrible. A/C is not on all year. Can be warm during parts of fall/winter months and no respite. And yes you will encounter roaches. The maintenance team is responsive though. The most upsetting thing about this apartment is that I was not provided notice that my auto-pay does not work for my final balance and notice of outstanding payment was not provided before it was sent to collections. The point at pentagon city made no attempt to contact me or forward the outstanding balance to my forwarding address."
"I'm going to start by admitting I'm angry. I like my apartment, the location and for the most part the staff is great. However, they do not have central heat & air. So the staff decides when the air/heat is turned on. For weeks the residents have been asking to turn it on, the staff said no. Finally they agreed to turn it on and it was broken. We get email updates but its still not working. However, their office has AC while the residents are suffering. I called Glenda the manager and she couldn't be bothered to return my call. I posted my frustration on our community wall & they won't post it. Our rent has increased $20.00 over the past 4 months to pay for heat in the public areas. Understand, this is an old building, but for the price, you can find something that has central heat & air and control your own climate."
