Reviews of Hall Associates Inc. - Hall Residential
"I’ve been living at The Billy Byrd for 5 months now. Pay rent and parking pass on time EVERY month. I’ve been targeted with harassment from other tenants and property management, I’ve had a work request order submitted on the portal for repairs that were acknowledged and NEVER rectified, and finally, Hall Associates had my car towed out of its paid parking spot (not handicap, not future resident parking) and have been dodging my phone calls for the past 36 hours, after I woke up after parking in the same place for months, only to find my car had been towed. $210. If you can help it, my advice is to never rent from Hall Associates, they’re easily one of the worst landlords in the valley and will screw you over and not think twice about it. Lynn Hall is a crook, Hall Associates in general are crooks, and the people in the office don’t mind gossiping about their tenants when they have nothing better to do. Be sure to dot your I’d and cross your T’s even though you’re paying inflated rent and keeping food on the table of people who have no ethics and show no professionalism. Sad excuse for property management even though they’re one of the biggest companies around. Pathetic."
"Hasn't given me any issues in my 3 years of renting. The address on Google needs to be updated on where to send residential rent checks though,(update: address is fixed)"
"Horrible experience renting from halls associates. They made we wait two weeks to move in for painting they never done. The dishwasher didn’t work, scrapes and nails on the walls, a broken blind in the bedroom, broken closet door. I contacted multiple times requesting painting I never heard back for a while then they said it wasn’t a priority. 11 months being there they send me a 60 day notice saying they were selling. Took my entire 1200 deposit for cleaning after I cleaned the entire house before leaving, blinds and a dishwasher that I never was able to use. Plus charge me 400 for moving out on the 6th of the month like they asked after I paid my last months rent . I do not recommend renting from them at all ! Pictures are from move in"
"I had a poor experience after moving out of an apartment that is handled by Hall Associates. I am writing this review to warn future tenants of some deceptive practices that they employ in regards to our security deposits. When I first moved in I was told my security deposit is $725 which is equal to 1 months rent. There was no mention that $200 of that is a "non-refundable security deposit". My landlord disagrees and says she had mentioned it during my move-in process but I am sure she never did. I have never even heard the term "non-refundable security deposit", it sounds like an oxymoron and I definitely would have asked about it if she truly had mentioned it. To be fair to the company, they did mention that $200 is non-refundable in the lease. However there is no mention on what this money is actually used for. When I asked my landlord she had mentioned that they are charged $200 by their "vendor" to get the apartment ready for a new tenant to move in. This makes sense, however I was also charged when moving out - $83 for carpet cleaning and $25 for oven cleaning, and this money was taken out of the "refundable" $525. Leaving 2 stars rather than 1 because other than this issue I have had no problems with this agency or my landlord and technically what they are doing is legal. I however feel deceived because these specifics were not mentioned when I moved in and I feel we are being charged twice, both moving in and moving out. I hope future renters can see this review and at least ask the agency before they move in about the specific details regarding their security deposit."
"The reception team is incredibly friendly and are quick to make you feel valued as a customer and I’m sure that’s why they have any repeat business at all. However the properties and other personnel under their employ leave much to be desired. I’m going to give you a taste of what could be in your future should you find yourself a renter of one of these properties. -I found out only two days after moving in that a man had been shot and killed in my apartment and when asked about this fact they would not answer any questions in regards to this claim. I know for a fact this is true because about eye level in the doorframe is a bullet hole that Hall has yet to even consider fixing and they still refuse to mention it anytime I’ve brought it up. - In dealing with the above mentioned homicide the front carpet was torn up and replaced prior to moving in but any other carpet in the apartment was dingy and covered in burned patches. Their solution? Save a couple bucks and try to use a carpet cleaner instead of replacing it. Needless to say this didn’t work and the blotches and burns remain. - During the summer I first moved in the AC was not working and it took well over 4 separate attempts to fix, then that winter the heat went out and wasn’t repaired for 2 MONTHS after numerous attempts (they’d get it working for only a few minutes only for it to stop working hours after they left) at fixing both issues. - My boyfriend’s car was towed from a different property’s parking lot because we were assured several times upon moving in by H&R that this was where we were to park. Upon calling to confirm the official response has been sparse and any attempt to learn of new developments has been frustrating to say the least. I could go on but I don’t want to type for much longer. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration and rent literally anywhere else."
