"Avoid at all cost. At first I had a decent experience with them but over time it has been awful. Maintenance requests take forever even when they can be quite important. When emailing about concerns or questions, they never answer them all and you end up in a giant email thread trying to get them to answer your questions/concerns. Good luck getting anyone on the phone besides the front desk assistants. They are literally out for your money. They will charge you for anything and everything. I had to move for work, paid a lease break fee equal to rent and still have to pay for rent and utilities until they find a renter. The utilities are somehow more expensive than when I lived there. AVOID AVOID AVOID."

"I unfortunately lived at 1029 Chicago Avenue at “Petit Apartments”. Shortly after moving in the entire floor flooded from a neighbors water heater. No one from Riner offered ANY help and I had to purchase my own Shop-Vac to suck the water out of the carpet which they did not replace. Between the endless amount of garbage thrown throughout the apartment complex and having someone urinate on my car, I cannot stress enough that you SHOULD NOT use this company. One of the most unprofessional business I have come across. It is VERY clear they do not do any maintenance just from looking at the apartments. I attempted to put it a maintenance request for my AC unit from 1980, when the man finally showed up to look at it he said he couldn’t do anything about it since it was so old. I had an AWFUL experience renting from Riner and advise anyone reading this to stay away!!"

"Rented with Riner for over 2 years. They responded to maintenance request in a timely manner, usually had the issue fixed by the end of the day. Always available when called, and customer service was excellent."

"Really poor experience renting from Riner Rentals thus far. Slow to respond to maintenance requests and a real lack of empathy from staff when trying to get issues resolved. Clear that they are looking to maximize the dollars in their pockets at the expense of their tenants. Tough to find good rental options in Harrisonburg, but I would strongly suggest that you rent from someone other than Riner if at all possible."

"This a good rental agency to get a place from. They have nice and affordable housing.The landscaping is always up to par. And the staff is Friendly and Personable, and they treat those seeking housing with dignity and respect. If you do have any issues, concerning your property-they do work quickly to resolve them. I’ll get a text that says within 14 days. Great customer service! And usually maintenance shows up the same evening!!! It’s surprising. Thanks for the opportunity!!!! Respectfully JR"
