Reviews of Meriwether Hills Apartments
"My wife and I have spent around 4 years at Meriwether. The place isn't new but is very affordable and very pet-friendly. The residents are kind, and the staff are friendly as well. Any issues we had were resolved in a timely manner. If you are looking for a new place with all the bells and whistles you may have to look elsewhere. I have been happy to call this place home for the past few years and would recommend this place to a friend or colleague with no regrets."
"Have lived here for 5 years and love the apartment, the environment, and the level of service. Maintenance is quick to respond and quick to fix any issues. Management keeps the grounds well-maintained. No punitive rules limiting your lifestyle; just be a decent person and you'll have no problems. Ryan in the front office is fantastic to work with and he never seems to have a bad day. Harrisonburg is a great place to live and if you have a chance to live at Meriwether Hills, it will only enhance your experience."
"Ultimately, we’ve had a wonderful experience living here. The apartments are spacious, and for a good price. I’m not sure what all the units look like, but ours is slightly remodeled, we have a nice bright kitchen and white ceiling fans. The buildings are older, so you more than likely will be able to hear your neighbors if they’re on the rowdier side. We happened to luck out, and have relatively quiet and friendly neighbors. Compared to other apartments we have lived in, the office/leasing staff have been a joy to deal with. Shout out to Ryan on this one, as he’s the one I’ve communicated with the most. The office staff have been friendly and very accommodating overall. Any time we’ve had an issue in the apartment it has been resolved almost immediately. For example, our microwave decided to die one morning, I sent the office an email, and by the time I got home from work that evening there was a new microwave already installed. We personally don’t have a dog, but there is a nice little fenced in area for pups to run around in. I have no complaints about the outdoor upkeep. Hallways are regularly vacuumed, shrubs are trimmed every few weeks, and I’ve never seen the grass get too bad. The pools are also relatively nice thought not top class. I would recommend having the bottom of the pools cleaned a bit better (leaves and dirt tend to accumulate through the season) as well as investing in some nicer lounge chairs. The only downside to these apartments (in my opinion) is that there is no washer/dryer in the unit. There is one in each building that you have to pay to use. We’ve personally never used ours, as we have family in the area where we opt to wash our things instead, but anytime I’ve walked by the washer/dryer in our building it has always been clean, of course I can’t comment on the ones in other buildings. All in all, we would highly recommend Meriwether Hills. As with most establishments, as long as you read your lease and are a decent human being you shouldn’t have any issues."
"SURE a great place to live if you don't mind paper thin walls and neighbors playing music loudly at all hours and partying and God knows what. My neighbors doorbell even woke me up. And management who literally doesn't care doesn't do anything. Crooked doors that don't fit the doorway, horrible mold problems due to poor ventilation. Come to meriwether with low standards and you might not be let down."
"My husband and I moved in a month ago and are so happy with our apartment! This large 2 bedroom apartment is so roomy!! And there is tons of storage! The carpet is brand new, the windows are new and everything is in good shape. These 60's era apartments are well designed and offer perks you don't find in newer apartments. Such as front and back entrances and a closet off the living room that could probably fit a twin bed in it. There's also a big closet in the bathroom and a linen closet in the hall and of course bedroom closets. Our bedroom is so roomy it easily fits a California king two dressers and two large nightstands with room to spare. Being older, they also have drawbacks such as communal washer and dryers, but they are located right out my back door and I never have to wait to use them. It hasn't been a problem. Also everything isn't perfect and trendy but my honest opinion is the pros far outweigh the cons. I also like the layout. The bedrooms and bathrooms are separated from the living area and kitchen by a door which offers the option of more privacy when visitors are over. Ryan, the property manager, is very friendly and bent over backward to help us. There isn't the hostile, distrustful environment here that we experienced while looking at other places. We feel trusted by the management and really appreciate that. Kids play outdoors and people walk their dogs and it feels like a real neighborhood, not a trendy but cold apartment complex. Also our next door neighbors are great!! They brought us dinner when we were moving in. Oh and there are big lovely trees! I can't be happy without trees around. Lastly this neighborhood is diverse and the home of several immigrant families which I think is awesome!! Oh and being near the bypass, 42, and 11 everything is so close by!"
