"I was very disappointed given the other high reviews, but my entire experience with Lifestance was extremely poor. I was consistently misinformed and misscheduled, I do not feel that Dr. Justin Steele acted professionally and let his personal anger lead to poor outcomes for me as a patient. My original saving grace was that they had worked smoothly with my insurance, until I got a phantom bill months later showing they'd mishandled my finances as well. I would not recommend this office or Lifestance in general. - edit, I was reached out to by a representative, it seems they're aware of some of the issues and have recently prioritized working towards meaningful solutions. I'm grateful for that, and hope their care improves."
"Therapy-wise, Dr. Steele is the best therapist I have had. He is very thorough in his breakdown of the situations I describe, and it's helpful for me to have a verbal outlet to my life's situations and struggles with mental health. Billing-wise, I am extremely disappointed in the billing services of LifeStance, and after many instances of billing mishaps, I will be leaving the practice and looking for services elsewhere. The billing department has openly told me that they have the right to bill me without figuring out the amount my insurance covers (which I did agree to sign on their forms), and have admittedly disregarded my secondary insurance, which is accepted, multiple times. I have asked them to reveal what my copay should be after coverage, which they are unable to tell me. I am being overcharged for my appointments, refunded for the overcharge, and then overcharged again on my next appointment after the previous issue was resolved (or so I was told). Then my account was credited after the last overcharge, and then they removed money from my credited balance, both of which are not recorded in my account summary. When asking them about billing my secondary insurance, it was described that my account was "a mess", but they would review it to make sure there was no issues again. I asked for a callback once they completed their review, and the person on the phone admitted that I would likely not get a callback, even with a note on my account requesting one. There is no option to remove your card on file so that you may review your bill for these types of discrepancies before they charge you. You would hope that a practice serving mental health patients would look to ease patients of the stresses of billing when they are looking to get help. I am disappointed to say that I have found LifeStance to not alleviate the stresses of medical billing, despite being covered by two insurances. I have others on my same insurance plan who have had zero billing issues whatsoever, and their billing experience is much different and easier than mine. Dr. Steele is five stars all around, and I couldn't recommend him enough. My experiences with their billing department receives no stars, and have brought me much more stress and disappointment as I look to improve my mental health elsewhere unfortunately. Update: I am still with the practice and seeing Dr. Steele after their last effort to fix my billing. I appreciate Lifestance's work to get the billing right, but still don't appreciate the trouble I went through for it to be corrected."
"Poor service for a first time client. I had a Telecom with Amanda Plumb for 0900. No one from there facility nor Amanda called me at 0900 because i been patiently waiting for that phone call since 0850. At 0903 i started making phone call to the facility to see the status of my appointment however i did not speak to a representative until 0920 where Ms. Anna told me Ms. Amanda have me down as a no show and i will be bill for a no show appointment. This is poor business practice so please be aware."
