"We used Commonwealth to do our state taxes this year while in the middle of a move. I had already completed our federal and just found myself with no time to finish state so I brought all our information here. At first all seemed well. We picked up the returns with everything prepped and ready to send. I will admit I only skimmed them to make sure it looked ok before popping it in the mail and all seemed fine. This was in May. Fast forward to today the 25th of November and I have yet to receive my state refund. When I called the state to find out what was going on I was told that they had listed me as a non resident and my active duty husband as the VA resident. As we were in the middle of moving I have yet to come back across the paper copies I had to verify this. I called the office immediately upon finding out and explained what I was told, still thinking maybe it was a state error and not theirs. I was told someone would review and call me back by end of week. No one did. So I called back and asked again what was going on and expressed my dissatisfaction that they had seemingly messed up and refused to even call me to touch base or tell me they were fixing it. I was then told they would call Sandy and call me right back. Within 5 minutes the gentleman called back and said that she would call me the next day. I have yet to receive a call back or even a simple “yes that happened we’re sorry we’re fixing it”. I will never use them again and highly recommend finding someone else to do your taxes if you want professional preparers who return calls! UPDATE: as of today 12-1-20 I was finally able to get someone on the phone. I am guessing it was Claudette however she never bothered to identify herself. After explaining several times that I was not, nor had I ever been a resident of MO and yes I did understand I could become one she finally started to amend my return. After several minutes she said she would file an amended return and then stated it would need to be mailed by me. I said fine. Then she said it would probably not go out to me this week maybe next week. At this point I said “ma’am I’m sorry what? I have been chasing you guys for 3 weeks and couldn’t get a return call and now you have the audacity to say...” she then yelled at me that she was in the hospital sick with coronavirus and wasn’t going to listen to me rant and hung up. I immediately called back because at this point I just want to pick up my paper return and be done. She refused to pick up the phone. At no point in the last 3 weeks have I been told she was ill, nor is she the only person that works in this facility. Furthermore she claims she was not the one who originally did my taxes so I am confused as to why I have been waiting for 3 weeks for her!! I have asked several times for the owner Sandy (so I have been told) to call me back. Seriously run far far away from these rude unprofessional people. I have been extremely patient and calm yet firm, not rude or using bad language and I was treated as though I was the problem when they messed up!! Who knows how long it will be before I actually see my paper return to even mail off."

"Trash stay away it you can. The lady messed up my return so bad I have been waiting months on months to get my state back just to have to send them more paper work. You think paying over 100 dollars they would get it right. Now I have had to file an amended tax return. Stay away if you can."
