"It's easy to give a negative posting or grade but, I will say after coming from Encompass Rehabilitation Ctr Petersburg then to Colonial Height Rehabilitation..the grading is in the Proof of the much Better Care my wife is receiving here over the last Ctr we just came from. Enjoy the Staffs warm and friendly atmosphere along with More Rehabilitation being performed here than the "other" place. Thank you for Caring and taking my Wife's overall health and wellness."
"Mary Lou and her recreation therapy team are amazing! They are so creative and always have wonderful activities planned for their residents. If you have loved ones staying at this facility make sure to take them to Mary Lou's activities!"
"The activities/recreation team is amazing. They encourage residents at all levels of functioning to come out of their room and participate in therapeutic activities. Mary Lou always has new ideas to cater to each different person."
"My family member was admitted to this facility on October 30. He had a catheter and wears adult diapers, can not move from the waist down after two back surgeries in less than a week. While his PT and OT and wound care were great. His general care was not! Pushing the call button was pointless. Most times a family member would have to walk to the nurses station and nine times out of 10 was ignored until speaking up. Even when desk staff saw us standing there, they were on their phones or one night just resting their head on the desk. On several occasions I entered the room to find my family member laid out on the bed naked, no covers, no adult diaper covering his private parts, just laying there. The covers were not on the floor so he did not pull them off. Two of our sons found him, in basically the same condition upon their arrival a couple times. Each of us walked to the nurses station, because pushing the call button was pointless and requested immediate attention for him. Staff was told that this was totally unacceptable. He needs CPAP at night to sleep and despite my preparing it and leaving a note to help him with it, most nights he never had it on.His catheter was to have been changed approximately November 11 and was not during his stay. It was changed when he came home by Home Health. Both of these things can cause major health issues. The room was dark. The furniture was old and broken. The bed was horrible and old and the floor was never swept let alone mopped, the whole time he was there, 21 days, trash was emptied every day. The food was horrible. Luckily we could bring food from home. I always heard this place is bad and since there were only two places that had a bed for him with about equal ratings, I chose the one closest to home, so friends and family could visit more often. I do NOT recommend this facility for your loved one."
