Reviews of VCU Health Center for Sleep Medicine
"Asked for CPAP twice as I could not sleep. They refused services, So I just let my insurance know about the situation and left the center."
"Seen by this practice only 3 time's then kicked out due to being honest about taking 2 mild stimulants prescribed to my brother to help me keep awake while driving home from San Antonio, TX. They never bothered to try and diagnose my problem of excessive sleepiness prior to this. Eventually seen by another practice which diagnosed me with narcolepsy. In my 23 year as an RN I have never had such blaten disregard, boarding on malpractice, for a medical conditioner."
"Do NOT go to this sleep center and do NOT transfer your care here. From the beginning of my partner’s time at this place, their doctor has brought up extensive barriers for treatment for no reason, delaying prescribing my partner their medication for MONTHS. My PARTNER has been the one keeping them on top of their work, calling them every day in order to get their medication. The staff told my partner to put their at home sleep test on incorrectly, resulting in an inconclusive test. After 2 inconclusive tests, the office has an insane policy of forcing you to wait multiple weeks to get an in lab test scheduled, despite my partner having an intensive sleep study on record, that stated they do not have the condition that this office believes they have that enable them to deny my partner their medication. My partner has been on Xyrem for over a year, and their quality of life increased exponentially from 2 years of literally not getting any sleep due to narcolepsy. This office has absolutely no problem denying their patient, whom it is THEIR duty to protect, medication that they need to live. I am absolutely livid at this office, and am glad my partner has been the one on the phone with them, because I have actually been losing my mind thinking about how this office can deny someone their LIFE and smile in their face about it. ZERO stars. I wish I could file a malpractice suit. And if someone from the office sees and replies to this, don’t waste my time with “oh no! we’re so sorry to hear this! how can we make it better?” You can do your jobs and ensure your patients have the means to function without actively denying them medical care. You can empathize with your patients instead of transferring them to someone who will smile in their face and tell them that there’s nothing (except bureaucratic nonsense) they can do, when there very much is! Prescribe medication! Are you serious? I am livid, furious, and at the point where I want to actively reach out to people in this community and warn them not to waste their time and money here. zero stars. do better."
"They refused to refill my prescription for a medication that I had been taking for over a year, delaying for over three months until my previous prescriber stopped filling it, leaving me practically catatonic. They were incompetent, unhelpful, and seemed to have little to no regard for my well being."
"Not very impressed with this facility. This was my first sleep study. I chose it because it had good reviews. After having my home study I ended up having to call several times and leave messages. I was finally able to speak with someone who still had to call me back. When I went back the doctor did not seem very confident during my visit as she gave me my results, which weren't explained to me thoroughly. As I was reading over my form the description was for a 60 year old female. I ended up having to come back to speak with the person who inputs or reads the study. Again no one contacted me I had to contact them. When I went back to get my results a second time the reason for the mix up was the birth year was put in as 58. I was born in 70. I'm still very sceptical that these are even my results. How do you miss type 58 as opposed to 70 and why was I not given a full explanation of my results..."
