Reviews of Commonwealth Primary Care - West Creek
"Camille Drozdowski, PA, is one of the most caring and wonderful physicians I’ve ever seen. She takes whatever time is necessary to listen to her patients to make sure she understands their concerns. She’s very thorough in her study of lab results, makes time to review my chart and discusses the best plan for moving forward. I love that she lets me ask questions and doesn’t make me feel rushed during my appointments with her. She’s very responsive, personable and always has an amazing attitude. I’ve seen a lot of physicians, and I truly cannot recommend Camille more if you are in need of a new PCP."
"I saw Dr. Thomas for a year, and I believe she could be a great doctor but the practice seems to try to get as many people as possible. I didn’t mind waiting the first 2 times but then the waits got to be too much. I would wait an hour and 30 minutes to finally be seen by the doctor. I feel that our meetings weren’t exactly meaningful for my health. She did not seem to care or ask enough questions about me. I do want to say that it was good at the beginning but added stress of probably seen so many patients a day, bad scheduling, bad practice management didn’t make a good experience for them and neither for me. If you are looking to be more cared for, I would definitely skip this place because they will make you wait and get you out the door quick."
"What in the world is this practice? I visited one month and a half ago with Dr. Thomas and the lab results came out a week after the visit and until now I haven’t got any follow up results or comments or calls regarding the results/the visit. There were several lab results that were off and needed attention for medication or something. And I called so many times the receptionist even remembered me but they flat ignored or never gave me a call back. What is this? And what are they doing? Do they ignore everything unless I was diagnosed with cancer or something? I doubt that they would even know even then. Now the lab sent me a bill and for what? Something they never gave any comments on the results for? Do I have to make another appointment with other physicians for the lab results/diagnosis? This is totally crazy in my mind. This was the first primary care visit after moving to Richmond area in 3 years and whom my obgyn recommended and please don’t tell me other physicians/facilities are about the same like this. Never going back to you CPC!!"
"BEWARE...DO NOT SCHEDULE WITH DR. CLAIRE THOMAS!!!! I switched to the facility from the Glen Forest location who I was seen PA Margaret Esposito. When I tell you I MISS HER SO MUCH!!! I tried to give Dr Claire Thomas a chance but you only get one chance with me and my health. I am a diabetic and if I feel as though you don't care, then I'm going elsewhere. I didn't mind waiting; I didn't have anything else to do. My appt was at 2:30pm and Dr Claire Thomas didn't see me until 3:45pm. My complaint is AFTER the visit. I use patient portals to communicate with my providers and I expect them to respond back to me in a timely manner. I don't have time to make phone calls to their office to repeat what I sent in the portal. The first message I sent to Dr Claire Thomas, she didn't respond to. I had to call the office and ask them to have her respond back to my message; she did half of what I requested her to do. I sent another message. I waited 1 week before calling the office. Receptionist Madelyn transferred my call to Dr Thomas' nurse Kim, who by the way is the WORST "nurse" I have ever encountered. I explained to her that I need a pre-auth sent to my insurance company for a medication and for her to send a prescription for test strips. I asked her to call me back and she NEVER DID. TODAY, I called the office, spoke with Madelyn again. I asked her to check my chart to see if Dr. Thomas responded to any of my messages and she apologized and said no. I told her to cancel my appt with Dr Thomas and to transfer me to the office manager. I spoke with Cindy, who was also RUDE. I explained to her frustration and she said she'll get them to resend the pre-auth because it was sent but it failed and she would call me back with an update. At this point, I don't even care if she does. I work for VCU and have already transferred my care to a VCU provider. I wish I could rate this practice 0 stars!! I will be giving my insurance company a call as well."
"I recently had another frustrating experience with this medical office. Today, I spoke with Amanda, the receptionist, after making a total of three phone calls over the last three weeks regarding my diabetes medication refills. Unfortunately, it seems that the issues I previously raised in my initial negative Google review about this office have not been resolved; in fact, they have worsened. Despite leaving messages and making multiple attempts to get in touch with Camille or her nurse, there has been no improvement in the communication and continuity of care. It is disheartening to see such a lack of responsiveness, especially when it pertains to vital medication for managing my diabetes. I took the time to confirm with Amanda that my previous two messages had indeed been received by the office, and to my dismay, as of today at 2:15 pm, there has been no update or response. This is a clear example of poor continuity of care and is completely at odds with the commitment to patient well-being that healthcare professionals, including physician assistants, are supposed to uphold. It is unreasonable for a routine matter like refilling a medication, especially when insurance approval and medical necessity have already been established, to require three phone calls with messages and three weeks to resolve. As a new PA to the practice, it's hard to believe that Camille's case load per day could be so overwhelming that such basic communication cannot be managed effectively. I'm deeply disappointed with the level of service I've received and the lack of progress in addressing these issues. It's imperative that this office takes immediate steps to improve its communication and patient care processes, as this continued negligence is not only frustrating but also jeopardizes the well-being of patients."
