"I was luckily referred to Oasis PT through another provider, and I’m so lucky that I found Sonya. I was not at ask familiar with what pelvic floor PT entailed but I was experiencing discomfort early in pregnancy and knew I needed help. Sonya is so warm, welcoming and understanding. Our visits are thorough and she followed up with me to make sure I was making progress. We went over exercises that I could do at home and how to make transitional movements easier on my body. I was feeling much better in a few weeks. I especially appreciated how she incorporated my husband when he joined me for a visit. I learned a lot about my body and how to care for my pelvic floor in pregnancy and beyond. Sonya even provided me exercises to help me with recovery postpartum. In the end, I had a vaginal delivery and even though I didn’t have much feeling from the epidural, I was able to deliver the baby in 20 minutes once I started pushing with minimal tearing. I credit the work that I did with Sonya on teaching me how to engage the pelvic floor even if you don’t have complete feeling during labor. "I truly cannot recommend Sonya and Oasis PT & Pelvic Health enough! Sonya was such a help to me and my husband during our labor prep and birth experience. As a physician myself, I learned so much about my own body and was much more at ease through the labor process! Sonya truly listened to my questions and concerns before and after delivery and tailored our sessions to ensure I was ready and at ease going into labor. As we were preparing for our delivery, I ended up needing to be induced sooner than anticipated and Sonya worked tirelessly to ensure my questions were answered and that my husband and I felt at ease. In addition to the prenatal Pelvic PT, my husband and I really loved the birth prep class Sonya offered. As first time parents who were quite unsure what to expect during labor, this session was so helpful! We worked through multiple birthing positions and my husband was able to be much more direct help to me during the labor process knowing where/how to ! Our extended family was so surprised by how active I was during the labor process (squats, lunges, etc.) and I felt so much better and myself because of it.
