"The doctors here are highly skilled and experienced professionals. Everyone was great. The reason for the one star is the billing department of this practice, which was unfortunately incompetent. I provided correct and current insurance information to them during my visit, but the billing department failed to properly submit the claims to get reimbursed. After almost one year of trying to resolve the issue for the provider (30+ phone calls and emails with the provider and insurance companies), I had to submit the claims on their behalf, even though I'm not supposed to, given that they are an in-network provider. The billing issue is still not resolved after 1.5 years from the initial service date. I would stay away from this practice especially if you have out-of-state insurance plan. It is a real pity since all the doctors are great, but it's just not worth the stress and headaches."
"Giving this facility one star for the poor reception staff. They are extremely rude and unfriendly and poorly trained at their jobs. I love Dr. McClendon, she takes her time with patients and listens to all their concerns. She’s also very experienced. The review is solely for the rude and incompetent front desk staff."
"They don't answer the phone! I was impressed with the appearance of the facilities but it was just appearances as most important to me, would be for the office to answer the phone. I needed my referral and I called them to see if they could fax it while I had my provider on the phone but after 45 minutes of trying they never answered. However, when the provider called them they did answer. I thought I had finally found a good, orderly and responsive OBGYN clinic but I was wrong. And I see that other people years ago have complained about this and the fact that none of it has been addressed means that they don't care about the patients so here I go to start looking for a better practice."
"edit: the office was clean, quiet, and the front desk and doctors were really nice and professional. They need a better call system thougt.... Haven't been to the office but just had a phone call. Do these people answering phone calls understand what customer service even mean? I made an appointment on Zocdoc but received no confirmation, so I wanted to call the office to confirm it. I tried calling both phone numbers on their website many times (during office hours) today and yesterday. All of those phone calls went straight to voicemail. The office literally just called me a minute ago, and when I called back, it went straight to voicemail. When I expressed the concern, trying to be the bigger person and said "you guys should look into that," meaning having one of their staff call it and check it, expecting some white lie like "ok we will look into it", but instead got "well that's the only way to contact us is by calling"... Well thanks a lot Sandi, VERY helpful."
"I have been a 14 years patient of the Herndon now Reston location when Dr. Fernandez a family friend was a Dr. there. The office has always been home to me. I went last week after waiting 2 months to be seen. When i arrived i gave my sons insurance card which i am the policy holder to and was told i needed to give one with my name on it. I didnt have it on me so i showed the front desk my digital card on my phone, she asked me to email it and i did but my phone had no coverage so it would not send. I asked her to take a picture of my phone to copy it or something and she said no. I asked to speak to Manager she called office Manager at Arlington office Jackie who was extremely unhelpful told me to basically go home or self pay. I asked her to give a call to my insurance and verify and she refused and said we have not done that for over 10 years we verify over the internet on the computer and i said great then verify me over the computer and here is my id which had not been asked and i was there for over 30 min being embarrassed with other patients in the lobby. She refused to help, Jackie said that it had backfired on them in the past, im like here is my id and Cigna can verify me and i am a 14 year patient that you know. Wow i left the office very upset and not seeing by the DR. I then emailed Dr. Porter ho is a Chief Dr. and her secretary called me back so i explained it all and she was extremely passive aggressive. She supported her staff and did not show any care towards me at all. She raised her voice at me and said that basically there was no other way her staff could have helped if i did not have a paper card at hand or had email a card to them. I asked her to please have Dr. Porter call me and she said I will send her a message but would not guarantee she will call you. It has been 5 days and Dr. Porter has never called. I understand there are rules and regulations and that people do fraudulent activities. At the same time I am a 14 year loyal patient, my sister goes there my daughter goes there. I had my Drivers license and i had a card with my name on it on my phone and they have a way to verify my coverage they just do not care about their patients. Just for the record in the past 4 weeks i have only used my sons card which is my same insurance number at my General DR, Dermatologist, ENT DR, Eye Dr. and at the Pharmacy and not once was i rejected. Do not go to this office because you will be treated as trash. They dont care about you!!!"
