HumanKind
About the Business
HumanKind is a non-profit institution located at 1903 HumanKind Way in Lynchburg, Virginia, United States. Our mission is to empower people to thrive and create a strong foundation for community well-being. We offer a range of services to support local families struggling with poverty, including financial coaching, transportation, childcare, foster care, and parenting support.
At HumanKind, we believe in inclusivity and provide programs and services that instill hope and offer tools to build a better life. We place individuals with developmental disabilities in loving homes across Virginia, provide free child care for infants and toddlers, and offer financial coaching to help individuals and families achieve stability.
We also support foster families with around-the-clock assistance and training, as well as provide home-visiting services for new parents. Our goal is to provide life skills to those in need and foster community relationships that support family self-sufficiency and relational health.
You can help support a child in foster care by providing a First Night backpack with essential items. Your gift will bring comfort to a child on their first night in a new home. HumanKind is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, and donations are deductible as charitable contributions. Join us in our mission to empower individuals and families to thrive and build a strong community foundation.

"Amazing staff and the campus is beautiful. Mind if you are going here it is Private. You will need to check in with the front desk. It's a beautiful campus, again its PRIVATELY OWNED-----> They run many programs out of this location that work with the local people, and kids in the area. Lots is going on here. ***Be respectful of the grounds so that they can remain open to the public. ***"
"It was so much fun to audition for the reboot of the Patty Duke show! I came here from Cameroon and we had a great time with the filming of the show. We saw old reruns as children. We sure were happy to see this reboot. I think Patty also played the twin from London."
"Heard of this program that helps individuals with transportation while out working in the community as I also have compassion for helping others while obtaining a degree in human services .I had the pleasure of working at salvation army and was able to refer some ppl..they have all are truly happy with ways to work."
"Good place and very good people with extremely helpful resources. HOWEVER, if you need help, its best to go to the campus in person. The phone directory directory is very confusing, if not completely worthless to use"
"Saved my life."
