"The new owners at this hotel are the worse they kick me out with my baby who’s ate my ear all because I didn’t get out on time at 11 o’clock after they have people walking around like I do is ask questions about how I state was and I gave the look up report 10 minutes later he came yelling and screaming cursing me out about getting out and I should know better to be out of here by 11 o’clock. He should’ve said that when he was walking with them And I gave this report about him and his wife see me struggling trying to hold my baby and put things in my car. I was trying to get the stuff together to Lee and the way he cursed me out. It’s him told me he’s got a quarter police was unbelievable. Unbelievable nobody should ever stay at a place like that because you know, she should know that it takes time to pack up your things And it get yourself together when you have a eight month year-old baby I was never ever embarrassed in my life and it was so cold and they stood by my door like you’re both about to jump me. I hope nobody ever go to this experience but if anybody stadia you shouldn’t go to Richmond Road they have better hotels and nicer place nice to people Working in the hotels I pay my money just like everybody else and they try to get me to stay for a week to get money out of me but I’m glad I didn’t stay because I was until he did that to me. He still wants to go help his wife to because she really look like she’s being bad it she looks very battered. I feel so sorry for her because she she look like she wanted to say something to him but she’s afraid of him And the way he came off yelling and screaming. I think he would hit because why would you call the cops on someone who’s packing their bags and you watching the Packers you both did it at my room door like you got a jump me in it and gotta tell me you gotta call the police on me or the better bill that I can stay in no other hotel , they both was doing the most for no reason at all and there’s a lot of things in that room that was broken not working there’s no water there is no ice. The TV is broke in the bed. It’s a kid getting cut on the bottom of the bed because the match it is too short for the railing and really sticking out so I can bang in my foot And still didn’t complain about that. It was roaches in the refrigerator and in the bathroom I still didn’t complain. The sheet was dirty. I didn’t complain because I bought my home and you didn’t me like that. That is so bad anybody who go to the cities route please check it out before you pay your money because the money was not worth it and she scammed me because I was going to get my room online and she told me that she could get it me the room cheaper from aura prices instead of online which it was it She tried to be more than one line and then they wanted me to stay for the week. She told me she’d give me a good price to stay for the week. I’m glad I didn’t stay for the week cause I was going to, but the way he talk to me and the way he treated me and my baby it’s unacceptable . I wait this hotel a big zero they need new furniture and new management and he doesn’t have no heat and it’s cold outside. You can see the women manager standing at my door, rushing me to get out with my baby"

"This family owned and operated business is a wonderful place to stay for either a short trip or an extended stay. The owners/operators are on site and so very very nice and accommodating. The rooms are VERY clean and if there’s any issue it will be taken care of immediately. The wifi is always strong (I know these days that’s important lol) and the location is close to so many tourist attractions or local favorites. We felt 100% safe at all times and never had a problem with loud or disrespectful neighbors. It’s definitely a nice, affordable choice and we highly recommend the Merrimac Inn!!!"

"Great room! Did smell musty, sprayed with Lysol 1 time and was good for 2day stay. Manager was very kind and helpful. Room was clean and spacious. Will be staying again. Has pool also, memorial day to labor day usage."

"Booked room for 1 night to goto Busch Gardens. AC was running, but not working properly and it was 90 degrees in the room. Strong mildew stench in room made it unbearable to breathe. Was shown another room and it was exactly the same. Owner was dismissive and refused refund for poorly kept rooms, claims she cleans the rooms herself and knows for a fact how tidy they are. Said he son would fix the AC. No way you can stay in VA in July without a proper AC. Report this place to the Better Business Bureau for false advertising and uninhabitable rooms ASAP. I have seen reviews of others who have voiced the same concerns."

"We knew when booking, because of reviews, that the hotel would be outdated but most reviews also said it was clean so we took a chance. We really wish we hadn't. I don't know what rooms they had but ours was not clean. The outlets were all loose making it hard to keep things plugged in. The water in the shower backed up badly when trying to take a shower. The sink dripped nonstop. There was a huge gap under the door. We were ready to leave after the first night but knew our card was already charged for the full stay and we weren't confident we'd get a refund. We really wish we had. The last night we were there, a cockroach ran across the floor that my husband had to take care of. We ended up not being able to sleep much that night after that experience so we left very early in the morning to make the long drive home on very little sleep. Would not stay here again no matter how good the deal."
