"I found Dr. Futrell from a Facebook recommendation when searching for a podiatrist to look into probable plantar fasciitis. Dr. Futrell was very friendly and thorough and quickly diagnosed the condition. He offered multiple treatments including a cortisone injection, a series of stretches, and a sleep splint to help keep the tendon stretched while I sleep. I had the injection - which was completely painless - and the combination of these 3 things has been MAGIC overnight. My heel and foot pain is completely gone. It may be short term from the injection, but if the injections help this much, I will gladly see Dr. Futrell for future treatments whenever necessary."

"I came to the Salem office for a 2nd opinion. A surgeon at UVA wanted me to wait til I was 60 to have an ankle replacement. I wouldn't have lasted that long. Arthritis and the previous procedure destroyed my ankle. The staff and Drs were pleasant and sympathetic. Everything was great except when it came to my medications. I had to call the answering service because no one at the office returned my call. I went without pain meds for 2 days after I was released from hospital. Here in the 2nd week and I'm going through it again. It stresses me out that I may have to go without again. I have told the Dr that Everytime I use the crutches around stairs I lose my balance and sometimes I do get hurt. Someone should have called me and addressed the situation. When a person is recovering from surgery they should be able to be comfortable. That is the only issue I had. If I have to have any procedures on the other foot I'm confident that this issue will not happen again."

"Update, I will give this office for stars the doctors very knowledgeable and shows concern for the patient. I do not retract my statement below here about having the visit in office building at the hospital I would recommend if someone has a foot injury that they would schedule them at their other office I hope they can take that as constructive criticism being mindful that somebody has a terrible time walking on crutches would at least let them know they need to be dropped off. My first appointment is a disaster I was not for warned there is no parking anywhere near the building there is valet parking if you have plenty of time to wait maybe 45 minutes or more. I will update this later, I recommend a foot specialist have an office nowhere near a hospital due to the limited ability to walk and the high congestion of a hospital parking lot!"
