"My best experience with a doctor has been with Dr Poehailos. She is thorough, professional, and best of all- it never took weeks to get an appointment. Usually just a day or two. The location has the look of an urgent care from the outside, but you will get much better care here without having to go into the madhouse of traffic and other patients you find at UVA and the big medical parks."

"8/9/23 EDIT: I was finally seen by Dr. Poehailos today and everything went smoothly. She was able to do pap-smear at my appointment and do bloodwork as well. I really feel like they could utilize the time better (do physical/more exams etc, but what do I know) but she also made a referral and refill one of my medication today. Staffs were nice and they brought me into a room pretty quick; I was seen shortly after I was roomed. I’m glad the nurse who did my bloodwork listened to me and used butterfly needle like I asked (I have naturally very small veins) unlike labcorp nurses who poked me three times with different needle sizes before using the butterfly. They didn’t do a thorough medical history check (I did not write or mention any previous surgery nor was I asked) or family history, anything in that nature. They might do it at my next appointment, I’m not sure. First impression is not great. I called them on 7/19 to make an appointment for a new patient and they were able to get me in the system right away. The person who talked to me on the phone stated that she is not usually working the phone (mentioned that she usually work in the back) but she was more than happy to help me out as much as she can. Once they got my insurance card and everything set, the lady offered me 7/26 at 3:30pm with Dr. Poehailos and promised me that they have enough time to do a pap smear in addition to a full physical/wellness exam. I couldn’t be happier and took the appointment. Then the day comes, and guess what, they NEVER put me in the book. I originally called to let them know I’m running 5 minutes late since I am now just leaving my workplace, and the lady who picked up the phone said I was never scheduled anywhere in the book. I planned this visit one week prior, get off early from work, allocate the time for it, and they never got me scheduled in the first place. There’s no way to sugarcoat this, she LIED to my face, made a fake promise, VERY unprofessional; not even exaggerating. They got me rescheduled to 8/9 and I BEG them on the phone to put my appointment down for real this time. She didn’t sound understanding or compassionate at all, couldn’t even offer any comfort towards my situation even when it’s THEIR mistake. She proceeded to hung up on me after she said and I quote, “you’re on the book now.” There was no “I’m sorry that you experienced a miscommunication with us”, not even a sincere apology. It sounded more like she was annoyed at me when I asked multiple times if there’s anyway they can see me today or sometimes this week. This is just a reflection towards the front desk. I’m sure all the doctors are capable, competent, and passionate about their job. I will update my review once they actually see me for the appointment."

"Dr. Karen Poehailos was absolutely fabulous!! My wife and I came in for our yearly check up. She was personable, attentive, informative, non-evasive and quite intelligent too !! All great attributes you want from a doctor ❤️. We both had our blood drawn and a nice respectful and professional assistant name Robert, did a a quick and awesome job !! I'm so happy to find my new family doctor !!"

Amy Martin and Michael Sty are both very attentive and I have seen both multiples times over my period of care at Well Family. Very nice and clean and modern feeling office. Always had great interactions with staff and both docs are very accommodating of my requests for care. Nothing really to complain about with this practice. Highly recommend!!"
