Reviews of Augusta Health Primary Care, Fishersville
"I have went here 2x for a large open wound on my foot and both time's was sent home with nothing being done they didn't clean or bandage it. They hurry and get you checked in so they can charge your insurance. Then spend hours hoping you will just walk out and they'll get paid for nothing. It's not like they are short of staff they are everywhere just talking and sitting around even the Dr. It's like a day care for Dr and nurses I have been in hospitals quit a bit in my older age and this is the first time I have ever given a bad review. The only thing that is going to happen for sure is there going to charge your insurance w"
"Dr. Reed is a good doctor that is extremely knowledgeable, especially with regards to dietary and nutritional advice. This can be a HUGE plus when in decent shape and wanting to maintain or improve your health (lower blood pressure, or cholesterol, etc). Unfortunately, he's trapped in an extremely poorly run medical outfit. I cannot say enough about Dr. Reed or his nurse. They are both great. His nurse is very compassionate and is willing to listen to everything you want to share - Dr. Reed does this, as well, but after about 10 minutes it becomes obvious that he's under pressure to get out of your room to go visit someone else - like most insurance strapped doctors, I'm sure he has 25+ more people to see today to keep his doors open, and you will feel like it. The office is typically clean and the exam rooms are adequate. There's almost always at least one, or two other people waiting. I have had to see Dr. Snodgrass when Dr. Reed was out of the office. I won't go into details, but personally, I would avoid seeing her at all costs. My experience with Dr. Snodgrass left me feeling like I would have been better off going to a walk in clinic. I have not seen any other doctors at this practice, but the bigger problem here is that these doctors are part the Augusta Medical Group, which is tied to the larger atrocity that is "Augusta Health". In my time as a patient, I've had "stat" imaging orders written that Augusta Health can't accommodate for WEEKS. I've had orders for monitoring devices written wrong by the doctors that the scheduling folks at the specialists office told me were wrong, yet then proceeded to say they would wait for the doctor to send it just so they could reject it - and I'd go to the back of the queue to wait ANOTHER two weeks to be scheduled. It's obscene how poorly run Augusta Health is. I'm quit sure the Virginia Department of Health would have a field day going through this place. If you're healthy and want good preventative care, go see Dr. Reed. He'll help you get your diet in shape and will recommend good practices to stay healthy. If you're sick and he needs to send you into the larger AH establishment for testing (lab work, imaging, etc) be prepared to fight for appointments and to be persistent in pushing for results. If you have any sort of lingering situation or a chronic condition, I would absolutely consider going to UVA or Sentara over in Charlottesville."
"I really like Dr. Reed. He actually listens to the patient. He's very prompt in returning messages as is his nurse. If I need a refill of my medications they do it promptly. Doctor Reed is not one to rush to put people on medications. He will try other methods first such as diet exercise and treating the entire body. I like a physician who does not rush to put people on medications for every little thing. The staff has always been nice to me."
"I was told my appointment would need to be rescheduled due to the Dr. Davies being ill. The appointments I am being offered are an additional 6 months from the appointment I scheduled, even though I’ve already waited 6 months. According to the receptionist, this is due to the doctor refusing to allow that space in her schedule. I called every day for a week to find this information out. Please do not waste your money on subpar care."
"Terrible at returning and answering phone calls. No matter what time of day you call, it seems that no one ever answers the phone. They are quick to recommend MyChart for correspondence but never bother to read your message or respond to it. I had a prescription refill request sent to the office and they denied it with no explanation to the pharmacy. I had to call, wait several days for a response, until I finally had to call again and luckily got through in order to get an answer. During visits with the doctor, I felt rushed and spent on average 10-15 minutes with the doctor before he left."
