Reviews of Inova Pre-Procedural Evaluation Clinic
"I’ve been here twice. The front desk staff is very friendly. I was brought back to the exam room not long after I arrived for both visits, which is great. For the first visit, the NP was nice and seemed very knowledgeable. Where it took a turn was waiting for blood to be drawn. From my arrival to the office to my departure, I was there a total of two hours. Two! The phlebotomist couldn’t get blood from me on the first try, from the only vein that I knew had no issues. She wanted to try the hands and I said no way. I requested a different person and that female got it from the same vein without any problem. The 2nd visit, the NP was nice enough but seemed a little awkward when entering the blood work I needed into the computer system. I was concerned that somehow this was going to end up being a problem later on, and I was right, which I will get to. The NP left the room to get a phlebotomist. After about 10 min, I heard my name being said about 5 times outside the door, and that person kept providing a room # that I was not in. I just sat there shaking my head. Once the phlebotomist found me, she was very nice and seemed to know what she was doing. However, only two vials were taken, which seemed odd, as it should’ve been three. I mentioned this but was told “just two today”. Ok, they are the professionals so I just accepted that they knew what they were doing. Well, I was wrong. The following day, I received a call from their office stating that they “missed’ doing one of the tests and that I need to come back in. Sorry, no. So now I’m going to have the test the day of my surgery. Gotta love it. I really do not want to return to this office for anything in the future. Patients have jobs and other responsibilities. We can’t be expected to take off time and drop everything due to a medical office’s lack of competence. Not all but much of the staff at this clinic don’t appear to have a handle on what they are doing, even when they aren’t very busy with patients. I seriously hope that the staff at the hospital knows what they are doing, because if the evaluation clinic is any indication of what I’m in for, it’s a major concern."
"I had an appointment this morning at this facility for the first time. Staff was friendly and I was taking back within a decent time frame. It was quite busy this morning. The only downfall is I don’t think the directory in the building is very good. I was 2 minutes late because I wouldn’t figure out where the suite was. *TIP* enter the building and head to the lobby up to floor 6 and you’ll see suite 650. Otherwise I had a great experience."
"These folks scheduled me for pre-op interview by phone. Then called 30 min late to tell me their scheduler booked the interview outside a 30 day window. And it couldn't be a phone interview, it had to be in person. Then they decided the interview could be by phone but then got confused by the calendar. Administrative buffoonery is a fact of life. But this place doesn't realize the lack of confidence and credibility buffoonery creates. I can only hope the surgeon an OR folks are better."
"The wait is awful here. I waited 2 hours for blood work. Look for other options."
