Reviews of Manassas methadone clinic
"My husband is a contractor so we move a lot. I’ve been to clinics in several states over the course of 16 years, and my MMT privileges for using as prescribed and never failing random drug screens always transferred with me—most importantly, a 30 days’ supply for me to administer at home. This clinic is the ONLY clinic I’ve ever been to that absolutely refuses to acknowledge previous take-home privileges that are earned after a two year period of compliance. They require you to begin as a new patient at transfer, which requires daily visits within a narrow window of availability (usually only a couple of hours very early in the morning) to the clinic to dose. Tough luck if you have a job, or, say three autistic children you have to bring with you. Tough luck if you oversleep or get stuck in traffic one day and arrive one minute late—you either have to call off work because you’re likely to experience the awful withdrawal effects until they open again. If you don’t have Medicaid, expect to pay hundreds a month…in cash. Counselor and nurse overturn like theirs is crazy! It robs you of the benefit of ever getting to know and develop rapport with anybody who might be willing to phase you up on privileges. Every counselor will tell you something different, making promises or assurances that won’t be kept. And GOD FORBID you do anything less than kiss butt and just endure the poor treatment. Don’t even think about speaking up or advocating for yourself, much less asking for a form to file a grievance. I wouldn’t doubt that they “file” those in the trash can and deem you a difficult patient against whom they may retaliate with frequent call-backs and refusing to phase up for compliance according to state guidelines. I was treated like a nuisance junkie for having a dependency to prescribed opiates 16 years prior, and then encourage by my physician to begin methadone during my first pregnancy. I didn’t do my research, and didn’t know how insidious this medication would be, or how impossible it seems to come off of it. Protracted withdrawal can last MONTHS. Unless you need very long term therapy to deal with your addiction or dependency, there are better treatments IMO that can be prescribed by your GP with more dignity—eg, subutex or suboxone. Methadone will create such a strong blockade against opiates that if you are ever in the hospital with severe pain, there with be little to NO way to manage it. I’ve also had that experience—it took the palliative care team to come up with anything that might help alleviate kidney stone pain, and that ended up being round-the-clock IV ketamine. Even that didn’t fully stop the pain. Methadone clinics can be helpful if you’re in need of treatment for a very real medical disorder, but keep yourself on the lowest effective dose. Clinics often encourage you to increase your dose, but it costs them pennies and ensures you’ll be a slave to the money-making clinic system for years to decades. Doctors will look at you as a pill-shopper if they know you take it. If you can find another way, please do! And if not, only consider this place as a last resort."
"This is by far the worst place ever. The staff or what passes as staff are so unprofessional. They constantly talk about other patients in front of patients. The facility can’t keep nurses because of the way they’re treated. The councilors come and go so frequently you can’t invest your time and trust with them. The manager in charge is so unprofessional he constantly places people in harms way by kicking them out without any counseling or administrative detox. People frequently overdose because of this. I’ve never seen anything so unprofessional or disregard for human life. Don’t go there"
"This place needs better counselors"
