"I stayed in my hammock in the back yard. The fireflies put on quite the show. Tina slackpacked us two days running, delivering our extra gear to the Walker Motel on the second day. The "lack" of wifi/cell service was a plus for me, and there is a landline you are free to use to call home. Having the run of the house makes it feel like home...although my house has never been quite as clean. I am writing this after 1400 miles on trail and this remains my favorite hostel for the trip."
"If you're hiking the AT, you have to spend at least one night here. It's 0.3 miles from the AT, in a valley surrounded by mountains and rolling hills. Breakfast is awesome. Tina and Brett are gracious hosts."
"Great place to stay! Have a pizza and hot drink while waiting for the rain to blow through. Owners had the place super clean and everyone was friendly! Also loved the VHS collection!"
"Ended up staying here for 3 nights Slack packing for taps. The bunkroom sleeps 6, there are 2 sem-private rooms in the bunk room with curtains, and one private/separate room. Plenty of resupply options including fuel, mountain House, and snacks. 100+ board games available, as well as hammocks, camp fires, movies, and food available from the fridge. Definitely try the breakfast. Only con (may be a plus to some) is the lack of cell signal and wifi. You will get no data/connection here. -Snacks"
"A little too pricey for the fixed income hiking community. I did not stay overnight, the hostel itself is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. The owner is extremely accomodating and provides a wonderful environment. Difficult to acquire any cell phone service, and no Wi-Fi, but hey, you are in the woods. Visit this hostel and you will have a relaxing day."
